  1. Count me in depending on dates. Also on 4 & 4, so if it works in. I had the Scooby out to Simon @ Japerformance last month. Nice RR and Simon seems sound. See previous thread "Modding has began" I'm waiting for a reply from Andy F about ny remap hopefully the second week I'm back.
  2. Dipsy, Subarus are over fuelled delibrately from the factory apparently as it is a safety thing. Much better/safer for the engine to be overfuelled than to risk running lean. Use Optimax but don't use OB unless on trackday. The other point is RR's vary greatly and maybe if I took it to a diiferent one I would get 305 but I'm not so bothered by that figure - more doing the RR for comparison to see what improvements I get. The JDM down pipe has a more open neck and also the bolt hole arrangement is different, still 5 bolts but spaced differently to fit the twin scroll turbo. The FP upgrade is not for the exhaust or remap specifically but spoke to a couple of Subaru guys and they reckoned if I was looking at going 360+ then was advised to upgrade fuel pump (OE good for upto 350bhp). Don't think I'm going to replace FP at the moment as I will be happy if I achieve the 340/350mark but more interested in the torque and how the car drives after mapping. The ITG might have been a mistake as it made no difference and since fitting it and posting a thread on SN - heard a few things about itg filters giving problems although these seem to be all on classic mafs. Think I might go for green panel filter for remap then try ITG back in afteward to see if there is any difference but I need to do a deal with Simon at Japerfomance or all this rolling road costs will mount up. Gogs
  3. I would go for Plasma myself. LCD is catching up quality wise and it uses a lot less energy but over all I think the plasma still has the edge. I think the picture quality depends a lot on the tranmitted quality. I find the blacks are hardly effected when on DVD but notice it quite badly when watching a TV channel. Watched Braveheart on C5 via sky 2 weeks ago and the picture was crap. I have a Pioneer 43" and Sky just installed my HD box yesterday. No chance to try it out though as I'm on the rig again. Julie reckons it's a brlliant picture, so it must be good if the wife can notice the difference. I'm p***ed off at the price though, don't get me wrong I think it's worth £300, but no dought in 6 months time Sky will do it's usual and HD box will be £100 or worse still free. Paid £3700 about 18 months ago for the Plasma and it is now £2100 with 2 HDMI connections. I think I need to grow up and learn to wait for my toys []
  4. Shame My A**E, I just subscribed 2 months ago and only recieved 1 mag. I reckon he will make it up to me by giving me back issues? Not!!!!!!!! [:@]
  5. Had car to Japerformance in Ellon yesterday for rolling road, service, Goodridge braided hoses, new ITG panel filter and to fit H&S full exhaust with sports cat - then back on rolling road again. Pre mod run was 289bhp at the fly wheel. Happy with that although was expecting closer to 300bhp from a JDM. [] Got car serviced and ITG filter fitted, Simon attempted to fit Exhaust but wrong flange on DP. UK flange instead of JDM for twin scroll turbo. Re-installed OE exhaust and tried it on rolling road just to see if ITG panel filter improved things. Gutted - no difference. [] Slightly better torque curve but very slight and no differance to bhp. Cars overfuelling alot so need a remap but need to wait until get exhaust back and fitted. Nice 4 wheel drive rolling road Simon has - 90k worth. He does open days at £40 per car and before and after mods for £55 so it will take a fair while to get his money back. Got to commend Ian at Hayward and Scott for good customer service. Called him to let him know that there had been a mix up and that I had ended up with a UK flanged DP and not JDM as ordered. He was real good about it and arranged for exhaust to be picked up today and getting it back Tuesday and he is re-embursing me for Simons Labour. Now if only all suppliers would respond so quiclky and without hassle. Away on Monday so have to wait now for a whole month before getting exhaust on. Then it's new boost solenoid, walbro fuel pump and uprated waist gate (If required) then a remap. Still waitng for my Advans to arrive. 2 weeks overdue and now getting impatient. Guess I won't get near them for 4 weeks either - bummer!!

  7. Congrats to U both. It was nice to meet you both @ Aviemore (I was the car parked 2 behind you) Advice from a 15 year married guy. COMPRIMISE! Or Al you could always adopt a gifted skill that has been handed down over decades from GGG grandfather Smith to the present Smith jnr! Learn how to turn deaf. Julie makes fun of me, says it's cause I can only concentrate on 1 thing at a time, but she doesn't realise the training involved to be able to go completely deaf but still hear the TV. Do the dishes once and a while (It's amazing what you can earn [] - not to often mind!) It's a difficult balance and you must travel this path carefully as the more you do the more happy Lyndsey will be and happiness can be addictive! Better go, I've got to get my marigolds on and do my chores! All the best to you both. From Gordon, Julie, Hollie and Hayley
  8. Aye, great day at Knockhill, got sunburnt and everything. Nice to meet some of the other members, Dipsy, Fai17. Had a Pax run in the yellow superlight, mental, that is Go-karting for adults [] The girls loved it. Well the kids did, Julie felt sick after her first run and didn't go out again. Hollie and Hayley had a few runs in the scoob and also got a Pax run in the green and yellow Caterham and loved it. Thanks to the guy who took them out. Sorry didn't get your name. I've stuck a tenner on my RB relay sponser sheet! Well worth it to see the kids faces when they got out the car. You've caused a problem now though as they are nagging me to get a Caterham! Hayley said it's way better than a scooby!! Wait till next time when it's normal Knockhill weather! [+o(] Tyres are a bit shot. F1's fitted in October, the 2 on the passenger side has the tread all turned up at the edges. Should of put the Bridgestones back on but didn't expect lovely sunshine! Roll on the next one!
  9. Cheers Lads, Thought it might be. A bit of a pain because you really don't want to have to run on a full tank all the time but I guess -needs must and all that. I have seen mods in Scoobymag where guys have fitted dual fuel pumps, is that due to fuel surge or is that just to try and distribute equal fuel to each cylinder?
  10. Any Ideas? Was at Knockhill on Saturday and had the car on the track (great fun - great day). First few runs were no problem apart from a spin He He! [:$] Started having a problem on the last 2 runs. Problem was when chucking it into the hairpin (In 2nd or 3rd) I would start accelerating down the pit straight and the engine would cut out at about 5-6k rpm just after the corner. Only for a second and then would come back on. Didn't happen if I took the hairpin a bit easier but was a bit worrying. Could this be caused by fuel surge or oil surge? I'm thinking fuel as I was down to 1/3 of a tank by the last couple of runs, quarter by the end! Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it? [:^)]

  14. Wuz looking to get my 04 JDM serviced and possibly some upgrades fitted. I will have to check my service book but I'm coming up to 14000 miles so would go for 15,000 service and looking to get H&S exhaust fitted, replace panel filter with a green panel and possibly an AVR boast controller installed - PM an estimate Cheers.
  15. What? No Opitmax in pump 3, did it have a different fuel in it?
  16. Phoned the misses to fill up the car as I'm nae hame until next week and Shell @ Loirston Aberdeen was out of Opitmax but the one on the other side of the DCW had opitmax. Misses asked the guy behind the counter about reason for shortage and he didn't know there was. Reckoned he was getting a delivery 2moro! [8-)]
  17. F1's for me, good tyres, never used the Toyo's but heard there OK
  18. I'm in Ivory Coast and just had a chicken sandwich for ma tea!!!
  19. Ditto on the GT3 RS what a car, nae cheap thou! Really fancy giving the drifting a go. I will have to try and persuade the wife that she would look good in a SX200 as I'm nae getting rid oh the scooby, so it has to be the Honda. So is the Knockers the morn's nite?
  20. Got a 04 JDM STI (V-limited) - blue and have ordered gold wheels. I originally was going to order them a month ago but couldn't make up my mind between DGM or the Gold. Eventually went with gold but looking at 5 weeks to delivery but still hope to get them before May 6th. Got 50 quid off when I asked for discount for SIDC memnber.
  21. Just ordered a set of 18 x 8.0 Advans from Envy performance. Cost me £1650 though but hoping to have them on before the RB relay. "Super, Smashing, Great"
  22. Bummer!! Just checked my Rota, working away and don't get back until the 22nd Feb, Would have fancied that too. Next time!
