About Vir Cotto

  1. The same guys will use the same equipment to service your car at T+C. Aberdeen Tyre Services(Altens) will do it too, and much cheaper, you can supply your own parts/oil. You will have to decide the service stamp on your book via price.
  2. Me too, if you want DS2500/FDB986H(Subaru 4 pot) & DS2500/FDB1372H(Subaru 2 pot) only 2000 miles on these. £120 half price, run-in by the book. I'm going to 18" AP front and rear on my WRX. 4 Pot and 2 Pot calipers available soon. £300 totally refurbished.(Stickered, not old embossed)2 year warranty.
  3. I have DS2500 front and rear, on EBC Turbo Groove disks, they do need a few application before they start biting well(get the heat in), so much less time than the Redstuff I had before. Once "hot" the DS2500 & Redstuff are much the same. The ceramics may wear the disk quicker though and sound like it.
  4. Get new bolts and gasket from your local Subaru dealer, some new exhaust hangers from Halfords, be prepared to cut off the old bolts(angle grinder works well), and have a ground sheet available. Easy DIY job if you don't mind getting down and dirty.
  5. Try and soak the parts you can not see with penetrating fluid, careful not to get any into your pad/disc contact sweep area. Using emery cloth, bring the exposed parts of the pins back to bare metal. With a shortened pin punch (just thinner than the pins) tap the pins from the back. Many small taps are better than a few mighty blows, to minimise damage mushrooming of the pins. When they start to move, work them in and out, keep applying penetrant. This is a lot easier done on a ramp, 'cause the access and space to work is limited. Better would be to undo the two 17mm caliper bolts to get clear access Being as young as a Hawk, surly they can't be too bad! Good luck.
  6. Good luck and happy trails.
  7. Merry Christmas to all.
  8. Thanks Lewis, all my my best wishes for you and your new fiance. Best wishes to all for the winter season.(How PC is that?)
  9. Congratulations to all. Great to hear mum and baby are doing well. How sweet a Christmas baby is. (Unlucky for junior - Birthday/Chrimbo presents together)
  10. Good call to pull left. Running off instinct will either save or kill you!
  11. Sillett himself patched the tyre.
  12. A friendly tyre services patched the tyre, the puncture is on the tread area. What experience has anyone got of this? Can I trust it/"lean" on it?
  13. Six people in my office, only two folk made it in last week, both drive Impreza.
  14. Nice one Blair, you'll have to get up off your ass now.
  15. Driving home from work tonight. Down a hill, nose to tail traffic. The car did not seem to roll as easy as usually does, and, it was pulling to the left. NSF, 2 week old T1R, dead.
