Been looking recently for a portable-ish set of ramps and keep looking at the ones in car dealerships that you drive car onto and the full thing tilts and lifts up. With a bit of work and thought these would surely be enough to work on the car on? exhaust changes, servicing, brakes, suspension swaps etc. Anyone here know where I'd get a set?

Are the damaged heads only suitable for the scrap pile, or is it possible to have them repaired?

turns out right hand cylinder head is cracked at the spark plug hole, so i'll get new heads fitted to it in the morning, not a great deal of luck with the car so far.

aye, it seems to be well fubar'd! halfway through stripping it down, a pair of fresh heads here ready to go on!

To just about the full level on the expansion tank, but this morning it took almost half a litre or more into the header tank, and now there's a definate misfire.

well after a few days trouble free motoring the impreza has started to blow some water out the expansion tank overflow, not all it's water just a bit. This only occurs when being sent on a bit. Could it be possible i'm overfilling with water...cracked turbo or heads? It doesn't rise it's temperature any more than it did with it's old engine (stays fairly steady only very minor fluctuations) and it will idle for half an hour-an hour without blowing water out, neither will it blow it out when driven steadily.... strip down job? THank feck i've 4 spare heads, just incase!

Thanks jac, i'll try in the morning. just re-built my own engine (new heads) and it picked up a shell today.....not a happy chap lol

What heads and gaskets are required to use a 2.5 block with the 2.0 heads?

I'd always had FWD cars, till i got (a year or so ago now lol) a Capri then that was it,, RWD all the way, 2wd saffie cossies then a bit of a driving ban, got my lic back after about 6 years and started back in a bertone styled astra coupe...got bored within a week, then got an old s13...... and several other ones an s14 a 300zx twin turbo job, then got an evo..loved the 4wd, and now i've got the impreza i genuinely wouldn't go back willingly to a FWD or rvrn an evo it's def got more driveability then the evo and although less bhp by a good number the scooby is quicker along most roads i use regularly. I've got a FWD at the moment as well, but it's excusable...i think? it's a wee almera N15 2.0 which i built into a rally car....which will hopefully make an appearance at the galloway hills for this years event!

I've ordered one last night, so I guess I'll find out soon enough now, It's standard suspension I've got on no plans to put coilovers on, prob Koni or spax shocks if anything.

Is anyone here using a lower H/strut brace/s on their car's, just wondering if there was any real benefit to them for road use, very odd trackday, prob mostly at Kames.

yes it is, was on gumtree as well, the fella had 7 prices up in 6 days Was actually wondering that myself, can't be many 199 built (never made a #13 if i'm not mistaken) here's a couple pictures from this evening stopped along the pier for a few pics.
