  1. centre cat here and cheap! Bleeding tyhe brakes is simple. fit the calipers, open reservoir cap pour fluid in, and if you've an eezi-bleed or similar you'll be able to do the rest by yourself. If not.... Get someone to sit in the car, go to the caliper furthest from the master cylinder (n/s rear) get person in car to depress and release pedal twice, on the third press get them to hold it down, crack open the bleed valve then tighten as the fluid stops to squit out. do this a couple tiomes for each caliper then go round them all again, working from furthest out to finally finish at drivers side wheel. It's a good idea to change all your fuid in the brake lines as brake fluid is hydroscopic and absorbs moisture and since it's sat off road, i'd think the fluid would be 'tired' by now. Keep checking the level of fluid in reservoir is topped up all the way througout the bleeding process, it must have plenty at all times.
  2. Maybole to Dailly road or the Strathaven to muirkirk road or from Dalmellington through to newton stewart and back up past Glen Trool, to Girvan and back to Ayr via the coastal road must be my top three roads for a drive, or for a decent haul at a reasonable pace I love Loch Lommond through Rannoch Moor and back down the coast to North Connel and on down through the rest and be thankfull, best scenery in the West of Scotland and jaw dropping awesome on Rannoch moor early light or dusk.
  3. It's a TO4E thing, but i'm not putting it on, need get strut braces, and angel eye lights for it! so I'll put it for sale or swaps!
  4. I've not managed to get hold of a standard air-box for it yet, meant to go to S&S to price new one, can't be that bad I hope! It is quick, far quicker than my first one, pulls far better and actually sits on the road better, gave it a'bit' earlier there on a couple of my favourite back roads, and it seemed to just slide through the corners perfect. Got a new Cat1 alarm for it today, I managed to break the clifford and I got me this for it
  5. after a bit quick was and polish, it's starting to look like it should :kerstsmiley:
  6. s****, mate. I know how you feel. It's worse when it's not you to blame. As long as no-one seriously hurt metal and plastic can be fixed/replaced.
  7. I've re-built a few that have had 'offs' or 'oooooohhhhh-oooppssssshiiiiits' and as you say there's always something not quite there with them, maybe it's an entirely subconsious thing? Aye, might as well laugh/joke about it, s**** happen's just got to tramp along and keep chappin on lol. Still can't wait to meet the combine pilot though!
  8. Yeah, it just made me boil with rage everytime a looked at it, and if something went tits up during it's re-build I'd o flipped and took a sledgehammer to the rest of it. Well I've still a bit more to get from them they gave me a 'basic' amount and once thehy recieve the service history etc there'll be a bit more onto the figure. could be worse could be "i gotta brand new combine harvester" pmsl.
  9. washed and err, well washed it properly, tomorrow it'll get a day of attention on it, sort out a tiny bit corrosion on the rear arches, then set about a full service, belt, pulleys, tensioner and a set of angel eyes with HID lighting, hopefully my self levelling 'install' will work out and the dibble won't bother with them!
  10. Well after the recent mishap with my Catalunya...................... I've got me another one Big thanks to smallcatalunya on here who sold me the car, it's so good to be out the bmw and back in a scooby again I'll put pics up once I've gave it a good wash, and detailed and waxed it tomorrow, well in a few hours
  11. You must have the patience of a saint, I'm afraid that if it were me then good ol dad and simple son would have been 'asked to go away', in a rather abrupt manner, I have no patience for folk like that.
  12. Just exactly my thought's either that or it was a dummy run to cover something else if he thought he had a blue light shadow. I'd be tempted to remove tghe AFM or some other quite vital part anytime I left it for the next while or so, and either a heavy chain or something across driveway. (and a few handily placed items....baseball bat within reach at all times)
  13. I'm n ot familiar with the set up on an scoob, has it got individual coilpacks or a single one mounted on the inlet?
  14. Farmer is being charged under the Road Traffic Act (sec3) Hopfully the PF will take it to court and not merely issue a fixed penalty.
  15. Yes, it brings a few things home when think about it, i'd be locked up for years if anything had happened to my babies. Yes, It's going to Myles Coachworks here in Ayr, they really do turn out a cracking job, even if it turned out the insurers decided categorically no way and just offered a settlement, I'd insist on keeping it, and I'd fix it.
  16. Car arrived home today, rips the guts out me seeing it sat like this. Looks like it'll be all good and get repaired though failing that, I'll retain salvage of it and rebuild it myself, with help of my friend who's really an exceptionally talented panel beater.
  17. Or speak to somebody that may know somebody whoi in turn might know a spanish plod who might accidently leave the details in a notebook open while he goes to the toilet or something. well worth 100 euro's if that was what was left for the plod's lunch.
  18. wouldn't be that hard to find him in Spain, I'd be up for a trip across with you (a kind of like that sort of thing...not you being ripped off but going to collect what's owed)
  19. The police have impounded and put notice of restriction or prohibition, can't recall exact words and they said it's parked at a farm and will not be going anywhere untill they release it. Still not getting much response from my Ins Co, I thought I'd of got a courtesy car, with me being fully comprehensive.
  20. Yes, thanks. Hope (my eldest daughter has bruising to her neck shoulder and top of chest, and bit embarrasingly but kind of funny announced very loudly in Tesco's to a friend of my wife's that 'dads going to hit the man with his bat stick' (baseball bat...which I didn't think she knew i had one and had no idea she knew it was in cupboard for 'incidents') Paige the youngest she's just her usual wild self keeps sayin 'daddy, oh is the car is a messy mess a man my car' lol Wifes sore but good. just the insurance nightmare now!
  21. Colin Hyslop, driving the combine, not the one nearest to the car, but the one in the far off bit road in the picture aprox 80m? behind me is where he stopped. Company name is WM Hyslop & Son, from Lendalfoot outside Girvan. It happened on the Maybole to Daily road. Because of the attitude of the 'person' driving I will take this as far, and to as extreme an limit as I can now. He was point blank refusing to call an ambulance for my 4 yr old daughter, putting it in perspective the worst that could have happened to him (and not for the outcome such as is now) is prison, should things have went bad, and at his time of refusal, he'd no idea of anyone's situation at the car, whereas the condition of a 4yr old lass could have been life threatening. Sorry if I'm ranting a tad, but as you'll imagine i'm about to explode, wish to hell I had 'flipped' at him yesterday, but my only concern was the safety of my two weans, and my wife.
  22. Well The insurance company informed me today, or more accurately The company they assign to fight the claim for me tell me the farmers insurance is 'more than likely invalid' I had to call mr farmer this morning to get his insurance details and as off 1600hrs he hadn't got in touch with them so meantime I've no car, no courtesy car......and no more fcuking patience left. Any suggestions apart from visit him with 'HICK' he was a total tosser on the phone as well, I'm just to angry to think rational and don't want my kids to do without me for 18 months which is why I'm still behaving myself for now. Insurance co were set to pay out asap till they found out this now it's as though they aren't interested.
  23. I'm wanting another cat to be honest, really liked it, always wanted one, not to sure why but might be the paint colour. desperate to get behind the wheel again, farmer will def get it 100% and in all seriousness, i'm thinking of putting the cat back on road, jigged properly (roof's not up and i'm certain chassis leg isn't to bad, airbags didn't deploy, so I'll see what happens in the morning when I pop down to retrieve my defi boost and oil pressure gauges dvd player etc.
