  8. Most failures I have read about and I did some reading,, seem to happen in under 20000mile cars that were modded before the engine was run in and its to do with engine clearences bieng very tight that causes the failure. I decided mine with 25000m should be run in and I don't red line it or push it to the limit much, just use it for what it's ment for spirited runs on country roads. If I have any problems I'll post on here to let people know, that's what the forums about learning from experiences of others. There are a few hawks on here running similar bhp without problem so I'll hope for the best.
  9. I think this is just the newage strut, if I was for both I think they would have said just strut,,,but I don't see why you could not try Fix 1 as a temp repair.. Maybe worth a try........
  10. http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/KnockingNewageRearStruts If you read the above link it may help...
  11. Over the winter I fitted, walbro 255l fuel pump, cobrasport 3" down pipe with sports cat with 3" blitz centre section and rear box, blitz blow off valve and a do luck panel filter....
  12. Just posting to say thanks to Alistair Dinnis at Trackhound tuning, he mapped my hawk eye this morning. The mapping process is really interesting and he explains everything in an easy to understand way, taking his time to get everything just right. The car feels much more alive through the revs now, running 1.4 bar with 350ish BHP... Thanks for a great morning, the drive home wasn't bad either.
  13. I think I'll live with it this year, it'll just annoy when polishing. It is only in the bumper which am sure is plastic so it won't rust or rot... Think it's been with the long spell of cold damp weather thats went for it as it was fine at the start of the month....
  14. I think my pride and joy, bought at 3 years old, only 18500m last year is not as immaculate as I first thought, although unmodified and immaculate looking. A wee surprise I got when I took the cover off today. There are bubbles in the paint on the off side rear bumper.now I know scoob paint is not the best but it has only bubbled in the one area and on the bumper only. Underneath all looks mint but if you get in the wheel arch there are very slight fitment differences. So maybe had an unregistered damage to the rear bumper with a not so good paint job.... Just shows no matter how well you check the car when you get it, you never really know the history....
  15. Boab, I think it is to do with the air fuel mix, the ecu is not getting the correct air to fuel mix,, maybe the maf has oil in it, needs a clean...
  16. Definitely sounds electrical only then. As Barry said this will be harder to find the fault . Think you may need to get a main dealer to put their diagnostics on for a full test they should be able to isolate where the voltage difference is in that system. Hopefully a cheap fix.......
  17. Just to confirm when the needle sticks or drops does it affect the engine, ie if yo never looked at the needle does the car feel fine through acceleration, so it's just the needle movement that's. Wrong .???
  18. It would be the spec c for me, hatch is too main stream in looks IMO.....
  19. Bobby they both look stunning, that RS really looks the business in White.
  20. Good to see the club sending something , but very sad news,, thoughts and prayers for the family.

  22. Boab, can get a hold of one for £10... If you want it
  23. Really glad you have finally got a bit of good service,,, and the car finally sorted out . Now you can look forward at last ....
  24. Really I thought it would have counted as sticker in the mods section? Maybe I should have gone for that then.....next time maybe ..
  25. Unfortunately graphics do need to be declared, and yes it will ad a few hundred to the insurance quote. Was tempted to remove mine as with the other declared performance mods it is getting near that £1000 Mark...
