Hi All,
I have done a quick search on here and not really found what I need, apologies if its there and someone points me straight to it.
I had my car serviced last week and was informed that the front brakes were getting close to limits, and would nessisitate the disks and possibly pads to be changed, which they were more than happy to quote me for, I was glad I was sat down!
What I would like to know is, are they easy enough to change myself, I am an aircraft engineer in my day job so I have all the tools from when I was working on the tools (now office based), and have been able to change brakes on most of my old cars when they needed it. Is there an online guide that shows all the steps to take to do the change or would a Haynes manual suffice? Or, is it a job thats best to have done by someone else and pay them to do the dirty work?
In addition, are there any recomendations for any discs/pads to go for or a supplier to use? I am wanting to stay as standard a s possible, but if I am able to improve using the standard calipers and disc size then I am open to ideas.
Any advice would be appreciated and thanks in advance to anyone offering any advice.
Ian
