  1. It was the idle spring in the forge dump valve that had snapped, this is the smaller of the 2 springs and is a cheap fix thanks for the help
  2. So the dump valve could be causing the idling issues? Its a forge dump valve, ill go to halfords tomorrow if I cant get carb cleaner is there anything else I can use

Help folks ive not been on here for a while as the wife is the main driver of the subaru now, I jumped in tonight and anitialy noticed that it wasn't idling properly as the revs were dropping down to about 400rpm then rising to around 1100rpm, also when driving it sounds like the dump valve is hissing when I lift of even at about 1500rpm this never happened before, all ideas welcome on fixing this, I work away from home and im leaving tomorrow night so time is short to fix this, my un educated thought is the dump valve piston has stuck but would this cause the idling problem it an 03 wrx
  4. i can pretty much weld anything if youve got a machine there mig or tig would probs be better, whats to get welded

  7. first off all sorry for hyjacking the post, i was wondering if any one could give me info of ngk spark plugs more to the point would heat grade 8 be ok to put on my04 wrx running 320bhp, i bought them spur of the moment without noticing the heat grades, any info would be great thanks

  9. I had a similar problem I think but I'm no expert, it turned out to be the boost control solonoid the car was seriously short on power if you could get a lone of one it takes 5 min to change if its fixed you no whats wrong if not no harms been done
  10. Mcindoe's does do alot of subarus the machanics drive and race them but as stated they are very expensive, saying that I wouldn't recomend extreme either don't rate them at all
  11. Had the similar problem aswell it was the boost control solinoid change it out it was fine for a week then got the same problem changed it out again and its been great that was about 9 months ago, PS the moral is get a shot of one to try it then buy one new
  12. That does seem like alot of cash for the job, I'd defo shop around
