About paulcoleman

  1. Pre-ordered BF3 on PS3 already, cant stop playing Bad Company 2 at the moment in preparation. BF has always won hands down for me over CoD/MW. I think BF will be top dog this time looking at the vids online. Cant wait... Paul
  2. No probs, forgot to add, personally I prefer the silver ones, but either way the 6 spokes look better that the current ones I think.
  3. Are these any good Donald? And Regards Paul
  4. Wow, good going there as she sounds like the perfect lass. Hold on to that one Nice car too btw, if I was at home I'd have a go at shopping the wheels for you mate, if I remember I'll try later. Paul
  5. When I first got my non-turbo I put 10w40 in by accident, and acceleration was sluggish in the cold, noticeably. Swapped it a week later for 5w40 (Motul Xcess 1800 I think from Opie Oils) and it ran much better, so I use 5w40 every time now. I think 10w is thicker at cooler temps, but I gather some older cars cant keep the 5w in as its thinner and escapes through finer gaps that develop in older engines. A friend of mine years ago had an old Nova which he ran 10wXX with no oil leaks at all. Bought 0wXX for performance and it was coming out the bottom of the engine as fast as it was going in the top!! I think this is why some people with older engines would choose 10w over 5w. I noticed better/smoother acceleration in my old Mk2 Mondeo when switching from 10w to 5w as well, but it weeped a bit of oil from somewhere, but not enough to worry about. HTH. Paul
  6. Dammit, I'm in Barnsley. Always fancied replacing my round with an oval.
  7. Yes, definitely. Bigger exhausts me thinks, I would prefer single ovals at each side, big ones, then the valance shaped to be tighter round them. Again, spot on with that one. I also think it needs massive spot lights from the classic era. With all the above 'issues' it just doesn't have the road presence of a standard Impreza, let alone an STI! Just looks like another 4-door family car. The huge bonnet vent is just not enough on its own, the vent reminds me very much of an old Kia people-mover (I think it was a Kia, or similar). It doesn't look aggressive enough, it doesn't stand out, it just doesn't move me like the Classic or the Hawkeye does. Paul
  8. I was hoping to be running winter tyres this year, but I initially had issues finding a set of spare 15" alloys. Then some sets finally came up and I had run into cash flow issues by then. Still hoping I can pick some up, but to be honest even though it was a little hairy at times the scoob is the best car I've had in the snow even with 17's on. Do-able, but I would feel better with winter tyres on! Paul
  9. I just ordered some from Performance Oils for £30 delivered, and fitted them to my Classic last week, they sound mint. I went for the lower 400/500hz pack, which ones you gone for. They are the dogs compared to the standard scooby ones! Enjoy. Paul
  10. Yeah, cancel and get Sky free. We were the other way round, regular Sky (not even Sky+) and 3 seperate occasions they refused a deal. I even got the mother-in-law to sign up, then called them but apparently I "called to late, sorry". I ditched them for Virgin and they started offering deals that were still ****. Basically, it seems any company only does deals for new customers and leaves the existing customer to get ripped off. So ditch 'em and get a free install from Sky. Paul
  11. Had the Scooby 16 months, never properly took it out for a nice picture (photography is one of my other hobbies!). While we were away on holiday in the lakes I was parked up waiting for a nice sunset, but nothing really happened, then the 2 vans either side of me went, so I repositioned the car and took this. Wish I had removed the 'princess on board' sign and told the missus to duck, but hey it was a spur of the moment thing. Processed the sky fairly heavily to make something out of nothing. WDYT? Paul
  12. I own a classic (non-turbo), and I bought it A for the looks and B for the amazing Subaru flat 4 sound! My dream Scoob at the moment would a highly tuned Hawkeye in an orange similar to the Focus RS orange with black graphics and black wheels. The Hawkeye is a stunner, but I've always thought the Classic MK2 was the best. I guess I'm lucky that an N/A Classic is the only Scoob I can afford to buy and run at the moment. Compares to my MK2 Mondeo the scoob handles like nothing else, I can't imagine what a properly tuned WRX or something handles like!! I'm sorry to any Bugeye owners, or lovers, but my opinion is that it was a disaster to follow the classic with it. I think the big problem with it was the headlights and back end, it just didnt look 'Subaru' enough. The problem with the Hatch is, again it just doesn't look 'Subaru', though the WRX S model does look pretty good in the right colour. Just my opinion though.
  13. 1. Classic Mk2 2. Hawkeye 3. Blobeye (I think, always confuse blob and bug. In this case I mean the red one in the SIDC banner top left) 4. Hatch 5. Classic Mk1 6. Bug (The one after the Classic, always hated it I'm afraid. Really sorry to any owners but looked too much like a Hyundai when it can out!!) Paul
  14. Definitely do it mate. I've been desperate to see them for years. This year my wife, for our anniversary, got her friend to sit by the phone hitting redial for about 2 hours before she eventually got through, and suprised me with the tickets. They were well worth the wait and I will do my best to get more tickets next time they come round south yorkshire way.
