As some of you may know I also have a series mcrae which over the past 2 years have been gradually restoring. I have recently had the engine out the car to tidy it up and also made changing the gearbox and clutch which were buggered an easier job and did the belt and another few jobs while at it. Anyhow we recently put it all back in and connected up the loom etc and went to start her up to ensure all was well before cramming everthing else back into the bay...... mmmmmmmmmm problem..... when turning the ignition on all seems well lights on dash few noises from pump that sort of thing and then you go to turn her over and there is nothing. The car was fitted with 2 aftermarket immobilisers one cobra and something else. We thought that it was a bit of overkill as the previous owner had fitted but have since been removed both and the loom all connected up again properly. Went to turn her last night after getting a new battery and same again lights wipers dash lights etc all functioning then go to turn her and nothing!! The car has power, but wont kick over is there a factory immob causing an issue?? checked all the grounds and everything connected back up again as far as we can see, what could be causing the issue??????? gutted as its hold me up getting it back on the road, managed to overcome every other issue the cars thrown at me but stumped with this one hoping its a simple fix that ive missed. Car has the standard 2.0 ej lump. Any thoughts or a methodical list of must checks??? Cheers John

Quick trial fit to see what they look like on the car................ dont worry about the scabby brembo disc's letting the side down they will be getting changed in good time for 2 piece efforts all round. What do you's think? bearing in mind the cars manky and needs a damn good clean and polish!!

Im changing the colour of my prodrive pff from the grey graphite to either gloss black or colour coding black as the car. Where is the best place or can anyone recommend anyone for the job. Im based in Argyll so Glasgow area or Perth or Stirling im quite happy to go and drop wheels off etc and then recollect. Im looking for a really high quality finish and absolutley want to avoid cowboys. What is best paint or powder? some feedback please if you have any, appreciated John

One of my mods I hope do to shortly on my black hawkeye sti is to tart up the engine bay a wee tad as im keeping the standard clean look on the outside of the car as she is mint. I already have some Cosworth goodies on order from Roger Clark Motorsport with all my saved up pennies and have my eye on a few carbon dress up items. The dilema I have is I want to upgrade all the hoses to samco's but cant decide what colour to go with!! red? blue? The car is a ppp so already has the red y hose under the intercooler so im just that tiny bit more swayed in that direction to keep everything the same. What do you guys think? Or has anyone got some pics of either a decked out engine bay in red or blue hoses to help me decide? All opinions welcome!! Cheers John

I ve done it in the hawkeye a good few times after it was mapped so the series mcrae has a lot to live up to so looking forward to that day!!! the applecross run up norths another cracker of a run
