can understand most of those, but an umbrella???????? Not sure on that one? lol

I take it when referring to the wharf, it means the wharf pub at crossways?? Sorry, never been to a meet so wanted to make sure i at least start in the right bloody place lol! Will need to make a quick stop off at Charlton to pick someone up so will try and catch up, but as I drive through most of these tunnels on a daily basis, i'm sure that won't be too hard as you will all be sticking very closely to the limit i hope!
-
funny I have heard about that before, hence if it happens to me (i do about 48k a year so its a matter of when not if lol) i'll make sure something is injured even if its just my wrist!!! But it's unfair you have to pay out, can you not make a claim theough the unisured Loss Bureau?? I recall that WE all pay part of our premium to them to cover this sort of thing, but your insurance company WILL NOT tell you about them!!! You have to do it or traise it with them! Worth a try. Unisured drivers should have their cars scrapped, be banned from driving for 2 years AND made to do community service!!! Maybe that way they'd learn!

Ahhhh I knew that there was a question I never asked JGM, but you just did it! Great to see your attention to detail, some people would just put up with the hassle and stay local as it could mean more profit, but i'd be happier knowing that corners are not being, cut or compromises being made to suit other people when it came to me parting with hard earned money (we I try hard anyway) and my car. The guy that does my mechanical repairs is the same, he will never cut a corner and would rather phone me with bad news than try and mash it back together! Had one of those yesterday.......................appears exhaust was original and does not wish to be removed from car and is breaking studs!!!!! Tunnel run is touch and go lol

it's not a problem, i got an email straight back from you via the website. Nice to know your busy, means your doing something right! I'd be worried if you were sat at home with nowt to do lol

Just wondered as everyone seems to be suggesting its the best thing to do once the air filter, exhaust, fuel pump air box mods are done to get the car remapped. But where in Kent is there that actually DOES know there way round an ecu and not just bought a kit from Maplins! Any ideas where is a good place guys, oh and i take it we are looking around the £600 figure? (god she WILL kill me) oh and ps.................will you notice the difference over the standard 215bhp?

Kent Scoobies Meet Friday 17th October @ The Wharf, Dartford

Gotta say as a newbie................never a truer word said. Having been in various car clubs this is all to often a sad start to a swift end. Let's hope not as i'd like at least to make it to one meet lol! On the brighter side, i'll talk to ANYONE, even if you don't want me to talk to you....i will!!! lol failing that, little Dan will as he is Scoobie mad.(and 4 so just goes on and on and on) You could always get someone to wear hi viz..............................."new members come here" on the back lol .go on slate me for it i deserve it lol However, what we found was that if you looked at it this way, if someone pulls up next to your car at a meet, and you don't recognise them, go over and say hello. If you don't remember, they may not be there for the meet, but to eye up YOUR car! Yes it HAS happended and I am sure, if they had known that the "new" face in the carpark was actually there taking details they may have paid more attention. Luckily someone did and they were caught, just a lesson learnt that i thought i'd share. S -
welcome....i'm new too so we all gotta start somewhere lol, is it just Scoobies you are involved with or other makes too, as I see you pointed out you'd like to get other car makes involved too, I can have a word with some friend of mine as i have migrated from a Vauxhall based car club that is struggling for meet venues due to the "select few" that ruin it for the more grown up members.

damn good point that, as there are customers that would need this sort or parts source to keep cars on the road. When I worked for a main dealer (Suzuki) we used a local specialist breakers to source good used parts and to say it was a massive success would be an understatment. Some parts like a cv were not avaialable and you had to buy a shaft costing over £300, now you price that and the customer would not bother having the service done nor the c/v but go elsewhere, offer them the reduced cost of used parts and you instantly have a trust being built. Why, because you are trying to save them money, not rip them off like so many dealers do! I lost count of the customers that would walk in, give me their credit card, tell me to "do whatever needs doing, i trust you" and pick the keys up from the petrol station! Now that kind of trust is what keeps people coming back, an more importantly telling others! Sound like you got an open mind and the right attitude to make it work, and you'll get my support if you do,
