Thanks for the replies folks , car will be the bum basic model so not expecting any remote door locking or such , having 1 key will enable a stealer to copy it then ? anybody disagree ?

Looking for a daily driver for the winter, been offered a mk4 golf 1.4e which only has 1 key! Anyone know if these cars should have a red master key ? Or can the existing key be copied ok ? Bit o luck somebody on here has owned an old vee-dub in the past.

Mine is a newage so may not be the same. has a button to the top left of the gear lever console, if this is what you mean i have never pressed it, when i was first looking at buying the car the owner pressed the button to roll the car forward when the keys were not in the ignition, took this to mean the button was to unlock the transmission from park when the engine was not running! Am assuming you're not talking about the button on the gear lever itself, my car has a very small button on the gear change console, hope this sort of makes sense?

Yes mate you will need the spacers or whatever they are called, also 4 plastic clips each side to fix them, have you searched on evilbay, have seen them come up now and again. Just done the same mod myself the sti lights do look better, still had the parts from the original buyeyes tho!

Good luck indeed with the loom mate, the supplier in canada doesn't seem to be around anymore so have a loom coming from the states instead, hopefully they will fit ok. Just trying a new look for the car, if they don't look good will put the morettes back on.

Don't know which part of town your from G.Mac, been told some of them have rented a flat in Newmains near Tesco, also heard they've build a hut and put up a tent in the back yard for more sleeping room, can't confirm myself just what i've been told mate.

Hi evil ross . have a jdm bugeye wagon not mapped for uk fuel, run's fine on v-power, tis a tiptronic auto gearbox so could be entirely different fuel map from the manual gearbox's, not sure if any parts from my car would be any help! Welcome anyway to the forum from kenny.

Finally got power to all of the lamps, just not in the correct way, high beams glow when on dips then go off completely when switch to full beams, driver side dip also seems to go duller than the other side, hard to be sure of that with it being very bright today, will check this again tonight, any ideas folks ?

Yep, it's a single filament bulb with single spade connector, nothing else in halfrauds even looked like it would fit in the reflector.

Anybody fitted morette lights to a bugeye, looking for help please. Got a second hand pair on evilbay, sidelights and dips working fine but no main beams! Looked like a simple plug in job, morette plugs match the scoob plugs etc so looked like an obvious connection - no such luck! What have i missed ? kenny

Thanks for the replies folks, with the car being a wagon have read it has a fuel mapping for torque rather than power as it may need to load lug more than a saloon, with it also being an auto wondered if it has yet another fuel map to suit, as it runs now unless i really boot it it's gutless below 3 thou when the turbo comes in really hard. Looking for better "driveability" if that makes sense? Td04 spooling up faster might just be what i need, opinions please?
