Hi, I intended in bringing my 'non-scoob' to this meet but it needs a new flywheel now :-S so won't be putting it on the rollers. Will still come along though as looks like fun
cheers Mat,
Yeah it was a shame to have to depart with the Scoob as I was enjoying the car and meets. Luckly I've found some work in the meantime in an office so earning enough to run a different car (Golf TDI 130). I still miss the Impreza though so maybe one day I can get another!
Hope work picks up for you mate, my dad's in the building trade at the moment and says it's quiet for him too.
Still planning on going to the rolling road day. Interested to see what my oil burner does on the rollers
Richard
Sorry to hear this mate. I know all the hard work you put into the BSC so it will be a shame to see you step down. Thanks also for being very welcoming when I was a Newbie last year.
Best Regards
Richard
cheers guys. Yeah seems a lot of people are going through the same at the moment.
By the way would be great to come along to the DSA meet still in April if ok. It'd be good to see everyone's cars on the rollers and catch up with you all. Won't have my Subaru but if DSA don't mind, I could put a different car on the rollers?
cheers
richard
Hi everyone,
Just a quick message to say that my Impreza is now up for sale due to being made redundant last week and unfortunately has to go despite being my pride and joy. It was great to meet everyone and although I haven't attended many meets, I've really enjoyed myself at the meets and meeting you all. Hopefully I'll see you all around.
I've always said that the Impreza would be the last thing I'd ever sell but when push comes to shove you have to do what's best for you. If I can afford it in the future I'd definitely get another though
By the way, if you know anyone who wants to buy a classic shape Impreza please let them know about mine.
cheers
Richard
Thought I'd say hi as I made an appearance at this meet too in my green Impreza Turbo I usually hang around on the Bucks section. There were some really nice Imprezas there!
Thanks for letting me know about this meet Hugh, was fun going through the blackwall tunnel again. Send my regards to Hugh and Jen
Richard
I can understand how you feel to be honest. Insurance and other running costs are really high on Impreza turbos and over £3000 for insurance is a huge amount of money. It costs me a fortune to run each year, and although I can afford it, it is money I could be putting towards something like a mortgage or whatever. Despite that, I can't part with mine.
If you still want performance there are still options out there that are quick but not too high on insurance or thirsty or the fuel. Good luck with what you decide on.
By the way, an Impreza Sport cannot be converted to an Impreza Turbo without throwing bucket loads of cash and effort into though, as it's not just a case of sticking a turbo engine in it.
You could always get a standard OEM recirculating dump valve (try adams Subaru). That won't have any problems.
Or if you like the whoosh sound I think dsa do vta dump valves don't they?
