Couple of pics of the front end now its complete with fog covers. So all being well she should be on the road on friday.

  5. Cheers lads. Hopping to get the car up to Hypertech around the end of march Bobby, i'll have to give Dunc a bell & see how he's fix for then.
  6. Couple of update pics. Fitted the refurbished inlet manifold, painted the intercooler (stain black) & fitted the rest of the samco hoses. Also painted the rear lateral arms & gave the exhaust & diff a good polish. I should have the rear bumper back & fitted for the end of the month, then its off for a MOT & then its off to get the lowering spring fitted & the geo done to fast road setting.

  8. Both cars are stunning Bobby Hope to get a closer look at the RS when im up at Dunc's with the type r.
  9. The golf was 140bhp with an angel tunning remap, cat back Miltek exhaust & a K&N panel filter & was running at 190bhp & 420 NM torque so it was pretty fast, Fuel wise it done 550 mile to a tank of fuel & 45-50 mpg, i ran the car for a year & done 11k miles with no problems with reliability. The golf was a great car and i only changed it as i need some thing bigger now.
  10. From this 2006 VW Golf GT TDI. To this 2007 BMW X3 2.0d M Sport.
  11. Interior finished. Going to fit the inlet maifold & the rest of the samco hose this weekend.
  12. Thanks for the comments lads, im really happy with the way its turning out. Bobby not going to be putting the car on the road for a few more months yet till the weather & the roads are better. But i'll give you a shout once i book her into Dunc's.
  13. Finally got the type r back from the bodyshop & into my garage. But saddly i damaged the rear bumper when loading it on to the trailer so thats now back at the bodyshop & i should have it back next week. I have also made a start under the bonnet, but i have loads more samco hoses & a repainted inlet manifold to fit & then a good clean done & thats the bay finished. Made a start on the interior aswell but i have a few wiring issues to sort out before i can get this finished & as im no good with wires a mate of mine is going to help out
  14. Thanks for the comments lads. I will be trailering the car up to Duncans for some suspenion work in the new year so i'll take you up on the offer for a brew & a look around the RS mate.
  15. Finally started putting the type r back together tonight. Couple of pics took with my phone. Another couple of nights work and she should be home for xmas.
  16. Thanks guys. It has been a long time without the car but im more than sure it will be worth it in the end. I was down this afternoon to see it getting wet sanded & buffed/polished & im more than happy with the finish on the paint. Couple of bigger pics from today. Think the colour works well with the wide body kit. Just cant wait to see her all built up.
  17. Wee update. Well last weekend was the first real chance of getting the car into booth to get painted. Saturday went fine as we flatted all the primier & got it ready for paint only to find some wee pin holes in the fiber glass panels, so we got them all filled & sorted out & got another coat of primier onto her. Then on sunday morning the car was removed from the booth & flatted once again & all cleaned down and ready for paint But as i started the car to put her back in the booth my mate spotted fuel leaking form underneath the car. Turns out that a fuel pipe has split & the ended my chances of getting it painted as we couldnt take the chance of baking her after painting with all the petrol fumes. Replaced all the fuel lines on tues night ready for painting today & finally got some paint on the type r today. pics are a bit small as they were took with a phone. Just the doors, bonnet, boot lid & bumpers to go then i'll be able to put her back together again.
