  1. Ciaran I got £460 for my 4 pot alcons off my p1 on ebay and that was for the calipers, used ferrodo ds2500 pads, and bells the rotors were knackered. I'd stick them on there. I couldnt believe the price i got for them people from other sites were only offering £250 - £300 for them. steve
  2. My mate in work got his honda type r wheels done in newbridge at a company called hot wheels and they did a cracking job of them. steve
  3. I'd rather have the Lichfield 2ltr Sti impreza than the cosworth. Steve
  4. Hi Today driving home from work my p1 began to overheat so i stopped and checked it. The top radiator hose felt solid as if there was back pressure or a blockage. So i let it cool down and got my mate to bring me some water so i could drain the coolant and fill it up so i could get the car home. I managed to bleed the water through and got the heater warm to. While driving home the heaters were blowing hot and cold and the temperature was sitting about 3/4 up the gauge. When i stopped and let it idle the temperature went down to its normal mark. Once home I drained the water and removed the thermostat and checked to see if it was working in some boiling water which it was. Fitted it back together and filled with coolant and bleed the system but i couldn't get it to bleed. I noticed that the heater pipe which runs from the back of the engine was roasting where it came from the engine but half way down the pipe towards the heater it was freezing cold, this was happening with the heater in the car set on full heat and at number 4. I did notice that there was some condensation/ water in the tailpipe of the exhaust. The engine was rebuilt last year before i got the car and looking at the receipt it say's head gaskets (1 mm) were £104, i had andy forrest map the car and it was running great up until this morning. While it was overheating and when i was nursing it back home the oil pressure was the same as it had been since i got the car. There is also no gunk on the oil filler cap and having only changed the thermostat 6 weeks ago the coolant was still slightly pink. Anyone any ideas? Or is it needing a visit to a garage? steve
  5. Have to agree with ballistic. I had 2 impreza before going to an audi a3 when our daughter was born last year, the a3 cost me about £40 a week (although i did use it a little more) in petrol and the scooby cost me £55. So i sold the a3 after 4 months and got a p1. It might cost an extra 15 - 20 pound a week but it's worth it when you get out of the car with a smile on your face every time. during the last fuel protests when the hauliers blocked the refineries They lost the support they needed from the public after several days, when only another couple of days wouldv'e forced the government to think about it. Hauliers wont try it again because the support collapsed the last time. steve
  6. Cheers guys I was thinking maybe they drive on the right where k-sports are made which would make the o/s and n/s opposite sides from us And make the grooves go the wrong way unless k-sport pack the boxes specifically for the British Market. Just a thought. Steve
  7. You could also strip them down and put new grease in your current ones. Not all subaru struts can be serviced so you'd have to check if yours can. If you do the job yourself your costs would be minimal as the grease isn't expensive. steve
  8. Hi Bought 8 pot K sport a few months on the scoobynet group buy. fitted the discs on either side matching the stickers on the discs for rotation, with the grooves going from the bell towards the front bumper. This matches various pictures on scoobynet which guys have posted to show their kits fitted. Today i've fitted rear grooved discs and pads from godspeed and the grooves run the opposite way to the k-sports discs. The groves run from the centre towards the boot, fitted them according to the markings on the discs Any reason for this or is it down to manufacturers choice. steve
  9. Sounds like maybe it's the maf sensor mate. Are any fault codes showing when you connect the 2 plugs. Steve
  10. Hi neil I had a converter for my 95sti type Ra which was fitted on the cable running from the gearbox to the speedo. It turned your speedo to mph without changing the clocks. I might still have this in my garage if I've still got it you can have it. It doesn't remove the limiter but ups it to 180 mph as kenny said Steve

  12. Looks like a national shortage, if you google shell v power shortage theres quite a lot of forums talking about the v power pumps being dry. A few garages have told people it was a quality control issue that has lead to the problem I fuelled up at whitburn shell this morning and all their v power pumps were working if this helps anyone close by steve
  13. scoobyparts were the cheapest i could find them for when i was looking. I was looking for whiteline front and rear droplinks a whiteline 24mm rear ARB and he quoted me £325 delivered. steve
  14. needing some new tyres to Has anyone used VREDESTEIN ULTRAC CENTO. They seem to be getting some good reviews online and camskill are doing them for a good price. Steve
  15. camskill are doing the toyos T1r's for £80
  16. Cheers guys I think I'll go ahead and change to the k sports but as I'll be keeping the 17 inch wheels I'll be buying the 330mm kit and as you say ciaran once you sell your alcons it doesn't really work out that expensive to change over Steve
  17. still undecided on this as i think the alcons work really well. Would there be much a noticeable difference between the two calipers. steve
  18. Hi thinking of changing the alcons on my p1 to the 330mm ksport 8 pots. What's your thoughts or comparisons between the two set ups and how much of a difference in performance is there between the them. Steve
  19. Get the alloy ones mate. Best phoning scooby parts i've just got £50 discount on the order i'm about to place and free delivery. steve
  20. I know with the blobeye shock's you could strip them down remove the grease and put new grease In them. This would save you buying new shock's. My mate did this on his blobeye and it worked the shock's were like new after it. Not sure if you can do it with the hawkeye though. Steve
  21. Thanks for the comments. I'd say there doesn't feel much difference between this and my ra the p1 feels quicker although i think it's running a little more power than the ra. steve
  22. Hi After recently selling my audi a3 i've bought my 1st p1 No 247. This is my 3rd impreza after MY02 WRX and MR95 STI type ra. I sold my ra for a family car in july as my baby girl was born so i bought an audi a3 5 door. This lasted till now as i really missed having the impreza and after talking the wife round i decided to look for a new impreza although she wasn't to chuffed but needs must, although i've been warned that i've to keep this one for a while I bought it from a dealer in High Wycombe last friday so it was a long day heading down from airdrie to get it. Spec Fully rebuilt forged engine with uprated pumps FMIC New VF28 turbo Uprated plugs and leads Decat Exedy Clutch Induction kit Prodrive Calipers and discs Uprated radiator Samco Hose Kit Probably missed some out. I emailled and andy f on the monday morning and with a bit of luck andy had a cancellation on thursday morning so i headed down to port seton after my night shift. The car had a dastek chip in it but there was det at high boost so i visited hypertech on wednesday for duncan to give it the once over, he removed the chip and gave the car a quick going over and a road test. The results of the andy f remap were 335Bhp 325lbft ( i was looking for about the 310 mark so i left port seton a very happy customer)
  23. Hi Thinking of buying another impreza and the garage selling it has told me that the engine rebuild and the other mod's were carried out by shannon motorsport in glasgow. Anyone heard of them or got any info on them. Would like to hear about them before i make a decision on the car. Cheers Stevie
  24. cheers for that mate i'll head out there if i can't get anywhere closer
  25. hi Just fitted a front mount to my classic and i'm looking for either someone who supplies the sticker number plate for the bonnet or someone that can supply the bracket that sits next to the fog light Cheers steve
