  1. Must be something in the rain - I too have N/S rear knock from my STi
  2. Very strange, I have met a few Scooby owners while working, wonder how many are on here..... Had a drop at fella in the southish side if Glasgow with a slightly damaged Bug STi Prodrive trackcar (Seat with Knockhill decals too) I could start a section for "Spotted while working"
  3. I did, actually had a nosey round while my "mate" was sorting paperwork. Totally went out my head until I saw the car in the pictures, was all set that day for a Who was it post too! Very nice in the flesh too
  4. Looking good. Off topic, I'm 99.9% certain I was at your gaff a few weeks ago..............Argos customers by any chance?
  5. I have had a few nods/waves - mostly newages to be honest - got a few non wavers so now a bit more cautious incase I look like a pie. Like most the Mrs thinks it's madness - thinks we are all weird lol. A mate at work also thinks it hillarious, to a point where if we are in the wee lorry together he waves a fellow Subaru (so if you see a waver in an Argos truck...........yep you guessed it!)
  6. Spotted a silver classic WRX with white wheels (IIRC) in a sorry state sitting in a field with Police tape over the spoiler. Looked nasty, seemed to have went through hedge/fence at the junction of Coalpots Rd and the B734 (thanks Google Earth) Hope driver and passenger was ok.....
  7. I always though the guys at Opie to be quite knowledgable - and not just there to sell you the highest priced oil. I am not wanting to skimp, hence my question which oil to go for - I use Opie for convenience, as well as price and service.
  8. Time to change the Gearbox Oil on my '02 STi. Is it worth spending a bit more and getting a more expensive oil such as Redline Shockproof, Mobil Mobilube 1 SHC, Castrol SAX etc etc (taken from Opie's "Upgrade Manual Gearbox Oil") Or is the general word that Castrol Syntrax is the one to use? Suggestions..........
  9. Holy thread resurection.....but instead of opening a new post on the same subject..... Am I reading this right, there is only one CAT (which is the PPP Sports Cat) on STi's fitted with the PPP? Is this true of ALL newage PPP STi's - or just later models? Reason I ask is I was going to by a decat pipe for the cat I assumed I had between the downpipe and the centre section. Mine is a MY02 WRX STi PPP.
  10. Gut wrenching pics there!! I know it's probably the last thing on your mind, but any idea of the cause?
  11. Anyone?
  12. Tar and Glue should shift it. Even WD40 - that removes sticky residue (i.e from badges etc)
  13. Hello, Quick question.... HDi Boost Controller - are these a safe bet as oposed to a Dawes Device? I was reading through this Scoobypedia Newage Mods but have read also conflicting stories about MBC's. Soooo, I looked at Electronic Boost Controllers, especially the HDi one - can this be fitted, safely, to a newage STi PPP? Electronic Boost Controller Is it a MUST to have a remap when fitting a boost controller? Any advice would be great, escpecially first hand experiance..... Charlie
  14. Chameleon in Renfew mate - they do a same day service for around £200. Leave the car at 9:30 - collect at 17:30 all done, car washed etc Highly recomended from me. http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=5551646277 0141 885 1714 - William. Hope this helps Charlie
  15. Sorry to hear abouts yours mate - I assume the other party has admitted guilt? Charlie
  16. Another for Propaint in Chapelhall. Recently repaired my mates 3dr RS Cosworth - stunning job.
  17. You won't go wrong with William mate - top man, perfectionist! I'll get photos of mine up soon
  18. Chameleon Renfrew - I got mine done friday there, in and out in one day. Dropped the car off at 9am picked it up at 4pm. Great service and even better prices!
  19. I telephoned S&S in Ayrshire, even quoted the original VRN as the car has had work there - the chap was very vaugue, almost cagey - was meant to get a call back, nothing! (and that was well over 4 weeks ago) I was told I can approach a automotive paint company - such as Scott Paints Chapelhall who are very close to me, they can match the paint if I can show them a wheel - which obviously I can after they are refurbished. I was also offered via another subaru based forum to have them done for £100 if I take just the alloys in, but the colour doesn't look proper Subaru gold (which is what I'm after) The alloys as they stand...... (not the best picture mind)
  20. Hard to watch, very graphic - serious stuff!
  21. I was quoted £160 and £200 via another forum for the service you state mate. They can't do centre caps - that is a problem as I can't get the same colour paint readily over the counter (i.e Halfords, Dealer etc) as the paint code seems top secret.
  22. Looking to have my STi alloys refurbished back to the original gold colour (from anthracite). Any recomendations - quality, price, timescale etc Cheers
  23. As title, I'm looking for the paint code Subaru use on their standard 17" STi Alloys fitted to 2002 cars. Thanks
  24. Ahh cool. Live very local - pass by most days.
  25. Was wondering what all the commotion was with umpteen sirens this morning. Where do you work Corsa? Is it that parts place - whats it called?
