Hiya

i must look dodgy!

Hi all. Sorry I couldnt stay long last night. Had to be in Welling by 8.30
Got on the M30....stuck behind a gritter in the middle lane all the way to the M25. Just what you need when youve just picked up a new car.
Nice to put some names to faces. Hopefully meet more of you next time.
Roll on summer eh!?
Cheers.

I absolutley love it! Had a two hour drive back to mine and loved every second. Only thing I could find wrong is that the IC spray doesnt seem to be working (resevoir is full - i checked
) . The motor whirs away but no aqua out of the nozel. Any ideas?.

I will be bringing the mrs as I am going straight to dinner from the meet.
Just to recap.... Impreza's are cheap, affordable practical cars with lots of shopping space in the boot. Insurance is reasonable and fuel economy dazzling. In no way do they consume your life and spare cash which could be spent on home improvments, shoes or bags. They are very safe and should the pitter patter of tiny feet come along they have at least 17 air bags in the back which make it the safest car in the world.
If you can all please print the above out and bring with you tonight should you end up chatting to her.
Cheers

is this your 1st scooby bongo
Its my second mate. Had a WRX classic which I sold last year. Had it for about 2.5 years. It was 100% standard and absolutley faultless (GPX FTO before that
). It was a 96 though so was getting a bit long in the tooth so got rid before it became a moneypit. Theres a pic of it in my gallery if your interested (Mica blue).
cheers

that will be two of us then mate you get your sti tomorrow dont you bongo wot a great feeling it is to pick up a new car
Yeah tell me about it mate!! I cant wait. I have mailed the dealer 3 times this week saying "still ok for Wednesday?". Hes probably starting to get the hump now.
Looking forward to Friday. This will be my first ever meet! My future mrs said to me tonight, "so your going to go to a cold car park on a Friday night and meet a total group of strangers and talk about cars for hours"
"Yup...pretty much!!!"
-
Ok mate I will do - thanks.

Sanspeed have already done mine mate. I just wanted to know what peoples views and get an unbiased opinion. Since my initial post I have done a fair bit of research and seen mixed reviews. Some good some bad. Most refferances to a remap though seem to be positive.
I dont know the first thing about remapping or tuning but apparently they use ECUTEK software to do the map and apart from that its a new filter and exhaust. Ill be giving them a call tomorrow to see what Exhaust system they use.
I dont pick the car up until Wednesday (from the dealer - not Sanspeed, they did the work in 2006) so will let you know how I get on. I had a fairly lengthy test drive and was blown away. Seemed to have much more oomph lower down the rev range than my work collegues 02 STI.
Would be good if someone who knows their onions could have spin round the block at the meet Friday night (in the passenger seat
) and see if it performing as it should (have a cert from Sanspeed with it claiming 310bhp). I wont go above 30 honest and you can have half of a pickle sarnie for your troubles.
I cant wait to pick it up!!!

Thanks all for such a warm welcome. Ill come straight from work so should be with you about 8.30ish. Ill be on my tod so if you see a numpty wandering around looking a bit aimless that will be me
Cheers

Hi Bongo STI.
Yes Peter (the owner) is very experienced and has a wealth of knowledge with regards to pinto zetec and anything Ford. He also knows his cars. He is responsible for the set-up of my kit car, which I'm very pleased with and a lot of the kit /specialist /rally car guy's use him.
I would research what you want him to do first, when discuss your expectations with him in depth before you decide to use him.
I seem to recall having read threads, on this site, about guys who's car didn't go quite as well as they expected, after Sanspeed worked on them.
But I for one will use him again on the kit car.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for that. They do an equivalent to PPP for £999.00. ECU remap, High flow air filter, zorst...would take a standard STI8 to 310b bhp. Wondered if anyone has had it done...
Cheers

Anyone got any experience of these guys? Are they reputable? Anyone had their "Phase 1 Performance Pack"?
Cheers!

everyone knows that ice blue is where its at so before you get married mate have it blown over LOL .
welcome to kent scoobies bongo sti and where we going on the stag doo .
lol! The dealer definately said that WR blue is lighter and that makes it go faster....
Re the stag do I dont even know myself yet mate! The kerniving (sp?) *******s that are my best men are keeping it as a surprise. The way I look at it is they have invited my old man so it cant be too outrageous.....then again.
I told them that I wanted to do some kind of "activity" in the day and then get wasted in the evening. Whats the betting that the "activity" is drinking heavily...
I'll be dissapointed if a trip to Hooters isnt included somewhere down the line...
Btw anyone on here called CJ who owns a rather nice 22B? I captured you on Ze Ring last year
-
No No No. Its common knowledge that blue adds an extra 5bhp.
-
New car, new camera, splashing out aren't you
haha. Getting married in April so got to get my toys now mate.
-
haha quality. Look forward to seeing some of you next Friday!
(Just got a new DSLR camera so will bring that down and try and get some good shots of all your scoobs
)
Cheers.
-
Thanks for the map and the warm welcome!
There arent any bizare initiation ceremonies are there? Im not adverse to being stripped naked and covered in tar but I would at least like some warning.
Cheers
