Hugh is right - Pele seemed relieved to be free from it. What where eurekas and deans expectations for the club when she stepped down? It was, after all, their whispering campaign that outed her, so one would assume they had some idea of where they thought the club would go post pele. If the main area is raisng funds then Granby and Phil addressed this with an idea (the ONLY idea so far) but that seemed to be unsatisfactory to a couple of people. I suspect this has less to do with eurekas new found respect for pele and more to do with frustration and wanting to mix things up a bit. Either way criticising hugh for his valid opinion is not really on, out of everyone on here he is just about the most respected person here (probably down to his age lol!) and when he talks people should listen.

I got the idea that maybe the club isnt successful because you said Phil and others had to personally subsidise it, that would suggest a club that is not self sufficient from subs and other revenue avenues. Please note i am not criticising Phil at all, i have no doubt he works tirelessly for the club, as do most RO's and i think his efforts to listen to some kent scoobies members and try to find a compromise were excellent, even though it ultimately fell on deaf ears. Or course he does his best for the club, it is HIS club, and i didnt suggest anything less. I was a paid up member, but i didnt rejoin for a couple of reasons. Firstly i didnt get a reminder, i literally logged in one day and was told my inbox was full (obviously as you have reduced storage as a non member) and then i noticed i have no member sign under my name, i didnt know my "time was up" so to speak. Maybe i did get a reminder by pm but maybe it was lost as my inbox went over capacity. Secondly i didnt rejoin because i didnt use any of the benefits of being a member in the first year, so i didnt really see the point. And maybe most importantly i should say the ads are a minor nuisance, i dont find them offensive but i didnt want a load of people to critcise them and then somone to just say they are helping support the club by the club being able to offer more items at a discount.

I was just thinking maybe they were to the benefit of the club and its members, but if it is actually because the club isnt very successful then so be it.

Presumably the extra income to the club will soon be noticed by reduced prices in the club shop, and a decrease in the membership fe.

Has anyone got any metal 10kg or 20kg weight plates knocking around? Condition not important (unless rusted to the point of staining) will pay £1 per kilo. Was going to search ebay but thought i might see if anyone local has any. Will obviously collect. Cheers.

Have used both kent performance and LAS and they will both do a great job. Remember that LAS will come to you too.

Just read it again and yep i think it definately sounds like you were responsible for taking the bbq the food the beer and getting it all there.

Hugh did a great bbq on the rally day, and he wore a McDonalds apron. Other people also took food and beer to the japbash last year.
