  1. Only had 3 runs. First two I was making sure to get off the line and didnt get enough revs, they where both in the 14s. Last run i was too busy looking at the revs and missed the lights, nearly a second reaction time and for some reason I let off before the line but I obviously got everything else right as i got a 13.8. Within a second of the best we saw on the day nobody seemed to be able to get away from the line. I see the future. Light 16 wheels, less than 3/4 of a tank of petrol no spare wheel or packed lunches and a start should equal sub 13. Then Fuel pump, pressure regulator then Andy Forrest then who knows. I take it quarter mile days are like fishing trips, full of stories of the one that got away! Gimme mods, Lots off them, think i was the only near standard car there.
  2. I was there, my first time soon as I saw it had to have a go. Not as easy as you would think! Good time had by all. Made amateur mistakes every run. First two times too scared to rev it got in the low 14s. Then hit the rev limiter. Last time missed the lights looking at the speedo to make sure the revs where up, lost 0.8 but it flew off the line, but for some inexplicable reason took my foot off the gas about 50 metres from the line thinking it was a bad time and my buddy was miles behind. 13.8 gutted, but cant wait to go back and try get it right.
  3. Thinking of going up to Crail tomorrow. Been persuaded by a bunch of petrolhead friends. Anyone else going? My mate wants to embarrass me in his Integra and, as I dont have a clue this is a possibility. Where should I have my diff set for maximum pace? How do I not make an ar5e off it? Are the burgers any good? Exactly how bad are the strippers? All suggestions welcome comic or otherwise
  4. Must admit I would normally agree. Until last week in the wifes focus when there was lying snow on the road I was doing 25 in a 30 zone not slow by any means. Some tadger in a bashed up cavalier was pulling out and in behind me, speeding up slowing down and flashing his lights. It really was quite intimidating so I sped up a bit cause he obviously wasnt going to pass. When we came to a corner I felt the car slide a touch but managed to correct it, I almost crashed because I was scared so what is it like for an pensioner. The bright side is that they went off into a lampost, I dont think Ive ever laughed so much in my life. Dont worry, they were ok judging by the way they chased after my car with what looked like a big stick (possibly due to my post accident hand signals)
  5. I just got " Are you having a midlife crisis Boris" when i got mine....
  6. Thank you, Just had a quick look, Boy do we get ripped off in this country
  7. Cheers mate P1 site was a good call. Watching those ebay ones already. Thats me found them in the US for $219 each but wouldnt even know how to go about getting them shipped.
  8. Looking for a set of 17 p1 alloys or wrc1 as they seen to be called. The only place I seem to be able to find them in this country is directly from Subaru at £200 a pop, but ive seen them on an american site for $235 which is a huge difference but they wouldnt ship them here. Does anyone know any dealers who will discount them not that Im stingy or anything or any good condition sets for sale.
  9. Ive had a quick look online they come in three widths, need to learn to speak japanese or speak nice to my Japanese neighbour. What width should I be looking for with what tyre size? Just seen above picture your an evil man think Im gonna paint it blue P.S Dont send me a picture of a mangled blue Are the original sti ones the 5 spoke gold?
  10. Thats the one, what a beautiful car. Got the paintwork. Just need the wheels and the lights. Dont know if it stands out because its the same colour but the wheels do look right. Fancied the crystal light anyway but know ive seen it I amm convinced, got these Morretti?? things on it great light off them but not the look Im after.
  11. Thanks mate, do you have any pictures, there are so many sti wheels around. Do you feel the handling suffered going to 17's. Ill take performance over looks any day.
  12. I have a Version 3 STi Type-r. It currently has a set of Gold 17 speedline alloys that are a bit past their best and I am looking for advice on replacements. Id like to replace them with something authentic but what do I know about whats in What size and style where they originally sold with? Im also thinking of keeping the speedlines for trackdays is 17 the best size? And how one earth do you post images? Keeps saying invalid link
  13. I think I had a test drive of the car you are talking about in Calder Motor. Not a big expert but it felt good to me and looked very well kept. I just felt it was overpriced. Found a Type-R the same age with 35000 miles for a grand less a week later. My advice look around drive a hard bargain these cars dont seem to be selling at the moment. Get the lighter Type-R, if you can do without rear doors, the close ratio gearbox and adjustable diff turn it into one crazy fast car
  14. Does he do discount for SIDC members?
  15. Glenshee here I come!! AARRRGGGGHHH!!!
  16. Welcome on board mate.
  17. Cheers mate, Ill try it next time it snows, the car is now polished and tucked up in the garage until the weather improves. I was planning on getting in touch about a service anyway, ill send you an e mail.
  18. This has always been one of my favourites. Destroyed the field then said "Get it tight up yehs" (in French Obviously)
  19. I dont know that it has an auto mode.
  20. Thanks Guys. I have put it forward I cant believe the difference. Why will it get clunky in the corners? I take it its not advisable to use this setting all the time. Now I have to figure out what the settings in between do. I think that can wait till I have lots of space.
  21. NOTE TO SELF, "Find out how to work the switchable DCCD on your car before you try drive in the snow" I had my first hairy moment in my car last night well i fact the whole journey was hairy. It all started so well as i boasted to collegues at work that my new car had 4 wheel drive and the snow wouldnt be a problem. By the time I got home I seemed to have mastered the swedish flick or is that massive oversteer. Trouble was I travelling at a maximum of 20mph. I really had the technique sorted by the time i got back to the street where i live. I managed a whole 6 flicks and deftly(lol) avoided a number of more expensive neighbours cars and the lampost on the corner. Can someone advice me how to set it before I hurt myself at the moment it feels completely Rwd
  22. My Type-r is around the 300bhp mark would upgrading to the ngk plugs actually make any difference.
  23. Thanks mate the sarcastic reply centre in my brain is going into overdrive. I dont know whats going to be more fun Driving my car or Chatting on the forum.
  24. I where my Burberry hat no matter what the weather. My 24 ct chains (feel the weight in that) can get a bit burny when it gets that hot though!
