  1. Hi All, As you all know I am looking for another car, when you look as much as I do for the perfect example you sometimes come across cars that you wish you hadn't, or wish you had but had a slightly bigger budget for your purchase. Have a look at this link and have a wee look at the detailed build. Very interesting thread and such a stunning job in my mind. After you see the end product have a wee shifty though the guys build thread where is says Hawkeye WRC replica. He is asking £13,000 for it, not sure it's worth that much - but what a looker. PIC WARNING - LOOKING AT THESE PICS MAY CAUSE DROOL!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.com/trade-sale-cars-3...rc-replica.html
  2. Ok I get the hint, the above car is now asigned to the bin and we move forward - no more comments about said car - I maybe got carried away with the bhp figures - true or not!!!!! Sensible suggestions only from now on - not too sensible clearly! Cheers Gary
  3. Hi All, I think everyone is thinking the same as me - he's talking pish!!!! I have resigned this one to the bin, but to keep my options open is these anyone else out there with a good type r or ra that wants to sell - post your finds here!!!! Cheers Gary
  4. Hi Rich, Yours is still the favourite fella, just trying to keep my options open. I will contat you later on in the wek to arrange a viewing. Cheers Gary
  5. Hi All, Looking at buying a run around and have the one below in mind, really like the car, but the wheels I am not too keen on. If anyone can do some wizardry and magic some pics of the car with good rims it would be much appreiated, looking to keep them gold, up to 18" and as close to a rally look as possible. Below the ad is a copy of e-mails I have sent him regarding the power and how this is possible if it has standard injectors and turbo. The add for the car reads as follows; IT HAS A NEW BLUEPRINT RED TOP ENGINE FITTED (BEST OF THE BEST) RUNNING AT JUST OVER 400BHP, AND ALSO A NEW LOW RATIO GEAR BOX BOTH FITTED ABOUT 15000 MILES AGO. IT HAS ONLY HAD 2 OWNERS FROM NEW, AND YOU CAN BE ASSURED THAT THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN RACED, RALLYED OR ABUSED IN ANY WAY! THIS CAR REALLY HAS ALL THE TRICKS YOU COULD ASK FOR BEING A 555 LIMITED EDITION IT INCLUDES AS STANDARD: RED TOP ENGINE (BLUEPRINT) ALUMINIUM BODY PANNELS (NOT THE USUAL VERY HEAVY STEEL ALL OF THE OTHER IMPREZAS ARE MADE OF). ROOF SCOOP, LOW RATIO GEAR BOX CAPABLE OF 170MPH, SHORT SHIFT GEAR SELECTOR, FRONT FOG STI BLANKS, AIR CONDITIONING, 4 POT FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS AND 300MM DISCS, STI RALLY SEATS, STI TUNED INTERCOOLER, STI ALUMINIUM PEDALS, CARBON FRONT STI STRUT BRACE, RAZO 300 GEAR NOB, ELEC ARIEL AND TV ARIELS, WIND DEFLECTORS ON ALL WINDOWS. THE AFTERMARKET MODIFICATIONS INCLUDE: APEXI INDUCTION KIT WITH ZERO SPORTS BIG BORE CHROME PIPING, RAM AIR BONNET VENT THAT FORCES COLD AIR STRAIGHT INTO THE AIR FILTER FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE, XXL BONNET SCOOP FOR MAXIMUM BHP, BLUE TINTED REAR LIGHTS, ZERO SPORTS INTERCOOLER AIR GUIDE, INTERCOOLER WATER SPRAY, ZERO SPORTS SPORTS CATALYTIC CONVERTER, ZERO SPORTS EAQUEL LENGTH HEADERS, ZERO SPORTS FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM, CHROME SLAM PANEL, CHROME BATTERY COVER, CHROME WASHER BOTTLE COVER, CHROME MAF, CHROME BRAKE RES COVER, APEXI TURBO TIMER, BLITZ BOOST GAUGE, BLITZ WATER TEMP GAUGE, BRAND NEW CERAMIC BRAKE PADS, BRAND NEW TAROX SPORT JAPAN DISCS, BRAND NEW FIDANZA LIGHTENED AND BALLANCED FLYWHEEL AND BRAND NEW EXEDY STAGE 2 TRIPLE PLATE CLUTCH (IN PICTURE COMPARED TO STANDARD CLUTCH, PRESSURE PLATE AND FLYWHEEL) PIAA CARBON FIBRE WIPER BLADES, RALLY GRAPHICS (THAT I CAN EASLY REMOVE WITHOUT DAMAGE TO PAINTWORK IF REQUESTED BY THE LUCKY WINNER). COLOUR CODED REAR STRUT BRACE, SOUND SYSTEM, AS YOU CAN SEE THIS CAR HAS HUGE SPEC, THE ENGINE HAS ALSO BEEN TUNED BUT I DON'T KNOW THE SPECIFICS. IT ALSO INCLUDES ELEC WINDOWS, ELEC FOLADBLE MIRRORS, CENTRAL LOCKING AND AIR CONDITIONING. MY IMPREZA IS ABSOLUTALY IMMACULATE INSIDE AND OUT, THE EXTERIOR IS IN 555 BLUE, THE ONLY COLOUR THEY MADE THIS CAR IN. THE BODYWORK IS IN A1 CONDITION WITH NO DENTS OR SCUFFS, HOWEVER THERE IS 1 VERY SMALL SCRATCH ON THE FRONT BUMPER THAT IS NOT NOTICABLE. THE VINYLS CAN BE EASLY REMOVED WITH OUT DAMAGE!! THE INTERIOR IS ALSO IN SHOWROOM CONDITION WITH NO SCAGS OR SCUFFS ON THE SEATS OR ANYWHERE ELSE. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN SMOKED IN!! IT HAS ONLY 82000 MILES ON THE CLOCK MOST OF THEM BEING KILOMETERS. I ALWAYS CHANGE THE OIL WITHOUT FAIL EVERY 1500 MILES OR EVERY 3 MONTHS WHICH EVER COMES FIRST, I ONLY USE MOBIL 1 FULLY SYNTHETIC OILS. GEAR BOX OIL AND DIFF OILS ARE CHANGED ON EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE USING MOBIL 1 FULLY SYNTHETIC GEAR OIL. WHEN DUE FOR A THIRD OIL CHANGE (4500 MILES) I HAVE A FULL SERVICE DONE. I ONLY USE SUPER UNLEADED FUEL AND NEVER LET IT RUN UNDER A QUATER OF A TANK. THERE IS NO KNOWN FAULTS WITH THIS CAR, APART FROM MY BLITZ AFTER MARKET WATER TEMP GAUGE IT LIGHTS UP BUT ONLY WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO, POSSIBLE LOOSE CONECTION OR SOMTHING I WILL DO MY BEST TO GET THIS SORTED FOR THE WINNER BY THE TIME THIS AUCTION ENDS, THATS ALL THAT NEEDS DOING. COMES WITH SOME SPARE BITS AND PIECES THAT I HAVE FOR IT INCLUDES THE 3 ORIGINAL BONNET VENTS. Been coresponding with the guy that has the car on this thread and asking about the power and what was done to the engine and ecu to get over 400bhp, below is a copy of my question and also a copy of his answer - does it add up??? Sounds a good deal as a smidge under £5k. My Question Hi Craig Can you contact the performance shop and find out, or give me their number and I will call them to get the detail. Very interested if the figures and parts add up. It's just with a standard turbo and injectors the 400bhp that is claimed is almost impossible - not to mention the major stress on the components if they have managed it - ready to go bang if you know what I mean!!! Cheers Gary His Answer, hi, ive spoken to john the machanic that done the job he says the only original equipment is the sti cam shafts and ecu that has been remaped by autotechnics, it has forged oversized pistons and rods, nitrated crank, mag valves and rebored, rollerbearing turbo. The car is under warrenty untill jan 2010 but unsure if its transferable. What do you think all??? Cheers Gary

  7. Where did you get the car fella? Looking for a classic RA or even a spec c if one came up at the right price. Cheers Gary
  8. Cheers for the reminder fella, I've contacted so many owners over the last few weeks I'd forgotten I was to get back to Carl. The website he has and the detail he has on the car is amazing - if the cars as precise as the website it must be a craker!!! Cheers Gary
  9. Thats exactly what it's for fella, I am setting up a new business in the next couple of months so don't want to spend a fortune on a new car - but want to have something that I can get a kick out of when my heart desires. Just e-mailed Carl to see what he is saying, I had contacted him just before he went offshore to see what his thoughts were. Maybe need to take a trip up there to see for myself. Bought a Discovery from Sunnyhill motors in Turrif around 6 months ago - bit of a trek if I remember correctly - but may be worth it if it's as good as you say. Cheers Gary
  10. I have had a look at this car a few times, looks the b******s and has all the right stuff on it, probably go for a wee bit less than the £7,000 asking price - any thoughts??? it's a maze this new run around thing!!!! Cheers Gary
  11. Just found out that the 2nd car here is a UK2000, which although a great car in it's own right, I have my heart on something a wee bit more Type R or RAish. Will need to be convinced otherwise if I was to buy it. Seen this one though that also looks quite a good buy; Ad reads; sti type ra 5th injector model #268/555 made to celabrate mcrae winning the 1995 world rally championship, 70,000 miles. this car is an import, i am the 1st uk owner and have only owened it for 8 months but due to baby comming its got to go, it has full stainless exhaust system 18" revolution alloys only 4 month old and cost over £1000, proper subaru mud flaps. there is abselutly no rust on this car due to it never having been used in winter when the roads are salted, it also has the roof vent, diff controller, close ratio gear box and quick rack steering as standard. Other info gained since reading ad; 117000km or 71,000miles 5th injector diff controller roof scoop new battery new coils new downpipe (de cat) stainless system hks turo timer new wheels and tyres 18" revolution motorsport wheels with toyo t1r tyres impreza mats and stainless sill guards green cotton group n air filter eliment allways run on v power car has sparco wheel on at the moment but i have the origional nardi one in the house scooby sport mud flaps cambelt and tappets being done as we speak + oil and filters poly flex anti roll bar links on the back Just around the £5k mark would secire it me thinks, whats everyones thoughts??? Just e-mailed him to see what the power figures are. Cheers Gary
  12. Funny you should post these as I have 2 in white in my garage from the rally car I sold at the end of last year. If it was the first car I think I would need to keep it gold to be as close to authentic as poss with the best look. Cheers Gary
  13. Hi Fella, It was mapped by Andy Forrest, might give him a shout to see what he thinks of the car as he has 1st hand experience. Cheers Gary

  15. I agree with Grant - £6k - absolute tops!!!!! Cheers Gary
  16. I think the "Let someone else pay - and then buy it" comments are the more popular - and more informed in my opinion!!!! Just need to wait and see what happens!!! Cheers Gary
  17. Hi Fella, I remember a few years ago I did that and spent upwards of £30,000 buying the car and doing it up the way I wanted it, was a bit fun at the time, but sold it a few years later for £8,000!!!! I know the £10k sounds a lot, and if I was going for it I would get it down a tad, but buying someone elses finished project is more times than not much cheaper than doing it yourself. Cheers Gary
  18. Hi All, Anyone know this car? Looks as if it could be a hoot - stunning looking engine bay - pure porn!!!!! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1123993.htm Cheers Gary
  19. Just been going through all the sales pages and came across this nice example - how cheap is this for the spec and condition???? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1102725.htm Might just give the chappy a wee shout and see if I can bargain him down a tad - cannae go wrong at around £4.5k - can I????? Cheers Gary
  20. Hi Grant, Just e-mailed Paul direct, thanks for his details fella. Tried to PM you but your mailbox is foo!!! Cheers again Gary
  21. Hi Grant, Can you give me his details by PM and I will contact him (e-mail addy if poss), I would like a hawkeye, but my funds will not be with me until the 27th Sept, so if that fits in with him we could see about a deal. Cheers fella Gary
  22. Hi Paul, It's 28k. Cheers Gary
  23. Cheers Sparky, I do agree with you that it's not worth £14,000, and agree again that it is a rare model, but rememer what the rarest commodity is at the moment, CASH!!! It's a buyers market out there, I should know, I recently sold a 04 STI Type UK with 50k on the clock with loads of bells and whistles including a spare set of Speedline Corse 18x8's for £9k. Gary
  24. Hi All, Un-chuffin-beliievable - what a life that fella has!!!! For all you youtubers here a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RQ4wX8CGbM Cheers Gary
  25. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1073780.htm Hi All Any ideas guys??? Thinking £14k is a tad steep for an 03 model, what do you think is a reasonable offer to make? PS, Does anyone know the car and have any thoughts on it??? Cheers Gary
