About JSFB

  1. Also tempted even after my hatch disaster. Mind you can get some deal on an evo 10 just now.
  2. Will look out the grease and give it ago, thanks for the tip
  3. I have the exact same problem and have just had an anti lift kit and new tyres fitted to my hawk!
  4. Can’t agree more. Have had a crap week with my hawkeye in and out Subaru garages with various mis diagnosed faults and eventually a hefty repair bill, but all was forgotten on a short run to get the papers this morning in Berwick. The wife can understand how it can take an hour and a half to drive 10 miles and back. Now toying with the idea of heading down to revolution next Saturday with the kids to max out the credit card while she is out shopping with her pals. My fourth scooby now, the bill keep coming, petrol gets dearer but the smiles just get bigger.
  5. Well done SIDC for pushing on the chocolate engines. Just confirms that these guys dont know what story to stick to. Eventually had to get rid of my hatch after two engine failure and IM refusing to extend the warrenty and was denfinetly not offered any tracker data logger or would have taken one just to prove that they a full of S*it. Car never modded, serviced properly, never tracked, not 17 so dont drive like i stole it anymore either. The excuses and blame are unreal its going to be sad to watch the subaru brand disappear from the UK over the next couple of years. Less than 2% my arse.
  6. unfortunatley not for me. one set of failed pistons one big end and not even 20K. Run on v power only, shift light at 6000rpm, driving 1 year old about so no grand turismo. Was not given the software update until the second engine was never contacted about it. I realise that in any manufacturing process things can go wrong but its the way you deal with them that matters and on this problem subaru have been found seriously wanting. Anybody that buys a second hand hatch or a new salon is a brave man.
  7. 45k you have had some luck with that one. Heard IM now have 70 short blocks sitting in stock hope there not for the new cars
  8. not worried about the looks its an impreza after all. Would be nice to know if the engine has destroyed its pistons yet that one must have done more than 5 miles by now.
  9. Superb car. Done the same as you chooped in my hatch for a hawkeye, not quite a rb320 but still a huge improvement on the hatch.
  10. My hatch was an absolute nightmare wouldnt even think about looking at one. Its just not worth the haslle with the engines.
  11. absolutely Gary just trying to get used to the awd again
  12. Cheers guys. Absolutely loving it. The steering, the brakes, the tail happy rear end and the never ending acceleration. Doing my best trying not to mod it.
  13. 6 months after getting rid of my engine exploding sti hatch i couldnt put up with my astra vxr trying to kill me anymore so picked up a great sti hawkeye last week, cant get the smile off my face. These cars ar just awesome. hoping to get more involved in the club this time round
  14. not faultless anymore unfortunately
