  1. aye, your car was looking clean that day, untill we hit the dirt tracks anyway! I'll remember and give you first refusal if I'm selling it then?
  2. lookalike?? How very dare you, lol. na, that wouldn't have been my car.......I hope. It was myself you saw at the Speyside stages last year though, meant to try and catch you for a blether as I recognised your car from on here.
  3. bit of snow up Aberdeen way yesterday, popped out to B&Q as was meant to be finishing tiling my bathroom, turned into a 2 hr jaunt looking for snowy roads! Took a couple of photos on my treck beats sledging!
  4. as well as a UK300 on standard shocks can, lol. Definately transformed the car, and for only £50! The settings were a fair bit off before he got started so no wonder I noticed such a difference. Going to get myself into the habbit of doing this twice a year along with my oil changes as general hard driving/potholes etc can easily knock things out of whack in time.
  5. It was Wallace who last done my allignment about 10 months ago, was dealing with a really sound bloke who had a tidy STi version 3 and seemed to know his Scoobs inside out. Had my car nicely hooked up. From memory he went slightly more aggressive than the Prodrive settings. Here's a link to the relevant web page, slight difference in price you'll see....... clicky thingemy
  6. aye, I had forgot to ask the first time round just phoned them back though, no discount for SIDC members when getting allignment done unfortunately, still £99+VAT. With the money saved by going to Wallace Performance, I'll get my membership paid and half a tank of V-power, lol. Al.
  7. just phoned Town & County, 1 1/2 hrs so that'll be £99 + VAT......for allignment!! now I remember why I don't go near main dealers. They have to book a ramp at the Porsche garage, but its not a Porsche I've got, lol. think I'll give Wallace Performance another try.
  8. there's a set on ebay, if the clicky doesn't work here's the item number: 200196687831. clicky
  9. rare wheel to come by, wheelbase did stock the 18" versions new, not sure about 17's. The P1 owners club website might be your best bet, here's a clicky thingemy P1WOC you'll need to sign up, but takes seconds. good luck, Alan.
  10. cheers guys, Was liking the sound of MH engineering after doing a bit of research on t'internet, emailed Mark but he is saying he is now unfortunately no longer in business. Think I'll give Town & County a wee tinkle the morn. I'll get this thing turning into corners yet!! Al.
  11. Hi, Anybody know of a good place in the Aberdeen area to get my allignment done? Was recommended MH Engineering out in Banchory but they are out of business. Has anyone moved into their old premises? Would be looking to get the Prodrive settings dialled in for starters. cheers Alan.
  12. while giving a lift to a couple of mates, From Scotty in the back seat sounding a liitle concerned (bit p*ssed and knows nothing about cars) "Is it meant to make this noise?" (referring to the rumble of the straight through system) Me, "Aye, aye dinnae worry its a Scoob and I've got a loud exhaust) Scotty, "Its just that..........its quite fine actually its ticklin' ma baws!"
  13. think I'll give them a try in the mean time then as i'm not down in Perth till next weekend, sounds reasuring them being motorsport orientated an' all. cheers for that.
  14. lol, aye thats about where I'm at just now. Its like I'm experiencing sattelite delay on my steering! car's booked into AWD now, so they'll get to the bottom of it I'm sure.
  15. just had a wee look, fluid levels are fine and belt tension seems ok anyway. cheers
  16. cheers for your thoughts, fitted a front upper strut brace a couple of weeks ago, was really surprised at how big a difference it made. Maybe this has stressed other components? car's running the standard 18's on brand new 225/40-18 Goodyear F1's. Uprated rear drop links. standard shocks/springs. Had the allignment/tracking checked yesterday for peace of mind, was due a check anyway but everything was fine. I've got some play in my nearside front droplink, but very little, and don't think it would cause something this dramatic. no rattling/knocks and symptoms seem to be evenly balanced from left to right. ?????
  17. Hi all, any ideas on what could be causing my dodgy steering? feels like I'm running with two front punctures! experiencing some kick back through wheel at slow/manouvering speeds with some lock applied vagueness/slow response from wheel at medium speeds very light at higher speeds and wanting to wonder around the road, tramlining more than usual. I've checked the obvious such as tyre pressures, wheels being tight on hub, wheel nuts tightened, had recent tyres all round, no suspension components flapping in the wind etc. does this sound like a failing power steering pump to anyone? Any help will be much appreciated. cheers Alan
  18. Alright Mark! Na they were a rarer sight back then eh, think the first I remember in the area was Colin's (noticed he's on here). Then my old man had the silver classic. You probably remember me as having the red Nova, lol.
  19. cheers guys, Here's a couple of photos, hope they work ok. One is a bit fuzzy. These were taken before i went 3" fully decat. Now has a Blitz Nur Spec zorst poking out the back. Picture of that wouldn't do it justice anyway, would need a sound clip!
  20. Hi folks, Been on here a while soaking up all the usefull info, but never got round to introducing myself. Finally got my first Scoob last November, a UK300, was chuffed to bits and still am. Got the bug from watching the legend McRae as a youngster, then my old man finally getting a T-plate classic had me hooked. I'm an Aberdeen loon nowadays, but my home is Blair Atholl and the Perthshire area. Still down that neck of the a lot, with Grant and the guys at AWD keeping on track. Hopefully catch up with some of you at an event soon. Cheers, Alan
