  1. welcome along mate! Nice choice

Cut up all your credit cards NOW as these buggers (including me![:$]) will have you modding by the weekend[:)]

    Gus

That is indeed true. Only had my car about a month and I've had braided hose kit, Eibach springs, anti lift kit and uprated fuel pump all fitted!!!!

    Damn this forum!!!!! [:o]

    Oh....hello and welcome! [Y]

  2. After reading all the posts on this topic I went along to the Shell at Linwood to fill up. Asked about the V Power day......'Don't know anything about it!'. Then they both kind of laughed at the idea that I could mention such a thing!!!  'Doubt they would do that'....

  3. Pedal should feel firmer due to ballooning of rubber hoses being eliminated probably needing bled if the travel gets less after pumping the pedal its air in the system and it needs bleeding.

Sorted [Y] After being a pain in the a**e and popping back a couple of times after test driving, Bill kindly took the time to bleed both front and back.

Don't think I took him away from doing Andy's car too much! [:)]

  4. Hello folks,

Well, I've had my first experience with Greers and I'm very happy. The car went in the other day and the boys put Eibach lowering springs, ALK, uprated fuel pump and braided brake kit.

Letting the springs settle but it's feeling better already.

    Great bunch of lads.  [Y]

I'll save my pennies and then I'll be back for a decatted downpipe and new filter.

Saw Andy's lovely car there as well. Stunning in the 'flesh'. [:D] Thought it was finished??!!

One question about the braided brake kit. I take it they should be fitted and work straight away? No bedding in as such? Daft question I'm guessing but it's just that I feel there's more travel with my brake pedal than there was with the standard set up. Thought they were supposed to be more positive? Braking feels ok, just that I'm pressing the pedal more I feel.

    Cheers

  5. How is the car after the remap? Does it make any difference replacing the y piece after the remap?

Was speaking to Greers and they outlined the best plan for me....ie...new filter, free flow exhaust (down pipe) and then get it into Andy F within the week. Guess I'll save up and see if I can get it all done at the same time.

  6. Better lat than never, a few pics from last weeks run. Some not the best quality but it was the other half's camera and I hadn't used it before.

    Hillington.

    Yeah, yeah!! [:)]

Good pics. Was that a coach load of tourists that got an added extra on their trip near Faslane?

  7. Missed another one because I was on night shift. As some of you know, my beat is Helensburgh so it's a pity I didn't know you were heading up to Faslane or else I could've shown you my other car......a might Focus 1.8 Turbo Diesel!!!! [:o]

  8. After joining SIDC, I looked forward to a bit of Scooby waving camaraderie but have only had one back! I seem to see a lot of different Scoobs in Ayrshire.....along the A737 but obviously not a lot of SIDC members!

Kind of stopped doing it unless someone is waving at me for fear of feeling a daftie. [:'(]

Mibbies turn yer "blues"off mate, that might help.[;)

[;)] Ah, that'll be why then!!!!

  10. i live about half a mile from greers too ritchie

    whereabouts are you

I'm actually Glengarnock, on the Longbar side rather than nearer to Kilbirnie.

kilbirnie used to live in glengarnock in the flats next to the post office.

ill keep an eye out for you.

You may see me in the Tesco car park....not at the fuel pumps!

  11. I made sure I mentioned SIDC a few times!!! He said there were 2 or 3 cars belonging to members in at the moment.

I'm hoping to come along to a meet as well, depending on shift work etc!

    Cheers

  12. Met up with some of the forum members at the weekend before they headed to Faslane to take Ron and Ethan out for a sightseeing trip and was delighted to hear that Greer Sport is actually about 1/2 a mile from my house! [:D]

So, popped round there today for a chat and my first impressions were great. Really friendly and they obviously know their stuff.

I've recenly posted on here about the back end of my car popping out on the Lugton to Beith road. Managed to do it again today at the exact same spot, only this time doing about 50mph instead of 60mph. I'll take their advice and take a bit of pressure out of my tyres so the Pirellis can do their job.

Got chatting about improving the cars handling etc so my car is now booked in for next week to get Eibach springs and ALK fitted! My wife thinks the car is just going in to get braided hoses fitted!

    Let the mods begin!!!![:P]

  13. I was going to give Greers a call about getting braided brake hoses put on (no chance of me doing them myself!) and I'll see what they say about the front/rear droplinks while the car's there! What about a front strut brace??

I'd like the easiest/cheapest initial mods that will help......just for starters!!! [:D]

    Droplinks and Geometry done

    Sounds like a plan! [;)]
