Ok, back on the iPhone as it doesn't work on my pc in the office. Is on IE but don't know what version. I don't get any text in the posts, only the smilies.
I can see everything on the pc and thinks it's fine. But on my mobile I can only see text and can't seem to reply to anything. It just starts to load up the new reply screen and then gets nothing! Wish I was a bit better with computers and all that and could solve it. I use my mobile at work for feeding my "reading about Impeza's" addiction!!! So work was a drag today, with no sidc to trawl. I'll try my wee brother and see if he can get it working.

You havnt said what you are trying to do? If you are trying to replace the standard rails with a set that can take -6 or -8 fittings so you can cjhange the fuel routing then try Carl Davey his stuff is top quality and a cracking guy as well.
Wanting to use -6 fittings and get a parallel setup. Seen Carl Davey's website. He has good looking gear, but seems a little nearer the higher end of the price ranging. I'm just wondering if ones at half his costs will work just the same anyways!
Thanks for the reply Arch.

How much more weight is a steel bonnet to a alloy one? Don't think it would cause me that much of an issue, as my car's an a daily driver and not at all being stripped out for weight saving in anyway. I have ditched the chassis subframe thingy from underneath and chopped a fair bit of steel out the front panel for the fmic. Surely these will even out any weight added with a steel bonnet?
Any people in the know, that can shed some light on the above?
-
Very nice. Also agree with the above. How do you get the black and white with colour? I must try learning this!

I'm on the look for some fuel rails for my 2002 wrx.
Any recommendations of where to get some or a complete kit? Going with a quick google this evening I see some in the region of 400 bucks and then others on the likes of ebay or from Japan for 150 odd bucks and they're supplied with hoses and the lot!!! I'm just after a few pointers on what to avoid. The cheaper the better though...

Mate when i changed to FMIC I found a carbon fibre vent that replaced the scoop with the same bolt/connection points the scoop had.
It was carbon fibre and black obviously, but im sure you could respray it a different colour if you wanted.
That would be my suggestion, the vent.
They may do different versions for various models
Chris
Thought of something similar to this, not at that price though! Not very sure where all the rain or snow for instance would go, this is my only wee worry. My motor is used every day and is kept outside on the drive.
Cheers

Was just a thought, like the thought of the standard sport look with 400 and odd brake under it. So is my standard wrx a steel bonnet for sure? Standard sport bonnet with hinge lifts, would that let a good bit heat out?
-
I'm going the front mount intercooler path and was wondering if a sport bugeye bonnet will fit my wrx?
Basically getting rid of the bonnet scoop and add a more discreet look! Or would a backwards bonnet vent or something be better?
Does anyone know if the non- turbo bonnets are alloy or steel?
Thoughts and opinions please....

I thought scoobynet was the place you had to be to get stuff like this?
-
I think via the power of google, I have found they should fit. But too late any how. The guy that was selling them on snet sold them to someone else!
Back to the drawing board and keeping my eyes peeled or some other cheap side skirts.

That does help. Surely the the sills are not different on bugeye saloons to wagon models?

Will blobeye side skirts fit my bugeye wagon? One of mine has had nasty scuff and I was looking to replace them with a secondhand pair that are painted also. Just not sure if the model years swap okay.

I got a wee look under the cover and under the bonnet on Tuesday, going to be something quite special by the looks of it
I'ved heard the brakes are a bit wee. Think they're just the standard newage 40 pots!!!

Sounds good. Td04 is a live little turbo, great around town etc. S. W. Motorsport is the place to go for any work that needs done. Andy would probably point you in that direction too.
Good luck

long shot here. But what up pipe you using. Is there any flexi joints before the turbo? I had similar problems a while ago. My up pipe flexi joint burst a little and the turbo in turn, ate it! Waste gate was stuck open and turbo was goosed. This happend with no noises or indications at all. Just no boost or spooling noise. My car was flat as a pancake. Revs wouls built up, but very very slowly, even getting to 50mph on the by pass was basically impossible!
-
Can you hear the turbo spooling up at all? Do you have a boost gauge?

only just seen this post!offshore at the moment and just gotten internet acces! i sold ryan the decat pipe and it came off a smashed wr1 which had a full stainless system on it! wuz from bhp developments can confirm this as it was stripped at his house! have you managed to get a measurment of the centre section? also could it be that there are different system between bug eye, blob eye? as i know the hawk eyes are different to blob eyes?
Pm'd you Bob. Deffo looks to be a classic down pipe. It has been compared against newage and classic setups and matches classics perfectly. Measures 90mm shorter than newage downpipe. Seems you must have had a classic system on your wr1? Got it sorted now anyways. Welded on the extra length needed to make it fit! All good....

The Wr1 exhaust system is the same as the ppp system fitted to newage sti's. Sounds like you've been sold something else probably of a classic. There are so many things on the likes of ebay that say wr1 & then have pics of something of a classic.
I thought the exhaust wered the same, thats whay I bought it obviously. It wasn't frfom eBay or the likes. It was from a member on here advetising in the for sale section! That makes it a little bit more annoying, as they would have known what they were selling!

Thanks again Gus. I'll get the tape on my centre section tomorrow to see whats what. It'll all be done one day.....
Ryan

Shame it wasnt still fitted as you could probably have borrowed a classic centre from someone to see how it all sits and fits together and made your mind up from there.
Hope you get sorted out whatever you decide to do
Might be worth checking out the Hayward and Scott website as I'm almost certain they do the classic centre for the newage with their Downpipe IIR
Even a measurement of a classic centre to compare it to mine. Anyone got a length of one?

Expansion Bottle
in Scottish Scoobies
Posted · Edited by Patsy
I'm wanting to move my radiators expansion bottle from the righthand side of the rad and over to the left next to the power steering fluid bottle. If I move the power steering bottle around a wee bit on its mounting and then magically squeeze in the expansion bottle with a diy effort bracket. I was thinking of maybe ditching the expansion bottle for a smaller bottle. Along the lines of a large (1.5l min) thick-ish plastic sports bottle, mounted in a bicycle bottle holder or similar. Is there any size or volume sort of issues that would knock this idea on the head?
Car is a 2002 wrx wagon.
