To be honest mate its entirely up to you and how well you know the mechancic and how good he is with not just a scooby but with others cars aswell, give it a try I would say no harm really and plus if it goes well u'll be saving just over half the money you would give subaru to service it. When I get money left over i like getting my car washed and waxed and getting a little snack lol.

oh and just to remind you that i own a 1.4 civic with a 1.6VTI engine converstion so im not really worried about speed coz my VTI gives me all the speed i need. All i want is the scooby looks and the sound!!!!!!

well here we go again about spelling mistakes for your info mate i prefer to write like that and maybe i do make mistakes thats my problem so leave it out , oh and again about the theives i dont have no worrys about them and they wont look twice at any of my cars becuase my dogs are always runing around free in my driveway at night. anyway enough of that im still pretty keen on getting a 1.6 havnt got a clue why???????????????????????????? i mean im sick of my 1.6VTI its becoming a hedache day after day to be honest i dont want much performance i want the looks and the sound of a scooby =)

i know were your coming from mate but thats the only solution for me at the moment i mean the last car i had was a honda civic 1.4 i did an engine converstion to that and put a 1.6 VTI engine in it was mega kwik, and now i just really want a scooby thats why i was thinking of getting 1.6 and making it look like a tubo i mean after having the VTI its not power mods im looking to do, i just want that scooby sound and the looks if anyone knows what i mean maybe in future i'll buy a STI or a P1 or something but for now i just want the sound of a scooby with all the looks and a little speed i mean the only thing i can do to it is a decat straight pipe and the biggest air filter i can find something like a blitz sus power filter maybe and thats about it really for the engine mods mayb theres more i'll just have to see what else i can do any suggestions???????????????????????? what do you rekon about what i'v said guys? i mean it cnt be a total waste of money can it!

well my area is pretty quiet to be honest and i know every tom dick and harry so i wont have any trouble with parts getting niked off the car, the other piont is guys that i cant realy afford a turbo at all and in a few years i'v got my heart set on a pulsar but im realy really keen on getting a 1.6GL i mean it wont really cost me much to get the remapping done to the ECU i alrady know someone who can do it for me for a pretty small fee and i can always do a engine converstion??????????????? if its in my budget and not tooooooo much work i guess or i could always jus turbo the 1.6 engine and change a few parts.??? i kno it sounds stupid but i realy want to convert te 1.6 to look like a turbo

thanks for all your hep guys really appreciated and i think i just might go for the impreza gl 1.6 get ecu remapped full de-cat straight exhaust system turbo bonnet sti spoiler and the rest of the little things hopefully thats what im going to do. and now all i have to do is wait for the right one to come along i guess hopefully it'll b this month Thanks again guys
