  1. Hi MkII Golf GTi...no question. Next to the classic scoobie that I now own, it's been one of the best and most reliable cars i've ever had....I had mine for 7 years with no major failures to report. Good thing is that you'll pick up a belter for much less than 3K too! Parts are easy to get, they are easy to work on, don't rot too bad and return a decent mpg when you don't cane them. Good luck with the hunt. Cheers.
  2. The only one that I have used, and can recommend, is Forte seal conditioner. If the car sits in the garage for longer periods of time between use then this stuff stops yer seals from hardening - can also reverse the degradation to a small degree - just as long as they're not completely stuffed to start with. Cheers
  3. Is it ok for use in limited slip diffs?
  4. Can recommend another 'transmission overhaul shop' if you want to give them a try....Strathclyde Gearbox Services Ltd. tel: 0141 647 0534. They are based just behind the old Richmond Laundry in Rutherglen. Cheers.
  5. Could also be a dodgy neutral/earth. Check the earth connections onto the bodywork and check the battery and fuse terminals ensurung all are secure. I'd play safe with the flatbed Cheers
  6. Totally agree! It was a touch better this week (with the exception of the traffic warden slot......what was that all about!) Even flicked onto rogue traders at one point just to see the bike! Rant over Cheers
  7. Hi all Hope you can advise. I'm in the market for a standard classic turbo model - 4 door - UK spec.....1999 or 2000. I've checked Parkers price guide as a starting point....unfortunately most of the cars I'm looking at on Autotrader etc are priced a fair bit higher than the price guides suggest. How much should I pay for a mint 1999 UK standard model? I know it's a bit of a tough question as serv history, mileage, etc, comes into the equation. Just looking for a rough guide for now. Cheers.
