  1. I've never used it before either but have been wondering about it. I've always used the old t-cut then a good wax but thats very time consuming. Is it quicker than using t-cut?

t-cut aw naw , thats against all we have been taught about paintwork :brickwall:

  2. but big Terzo Neil was round the garage for a chat last night as I was splitting an engine out of a P1, and had to get the crank pulley bolt off. It had the wrong front pulley on it so the special tool wouldn't work, so whilst I locked the flywheel, Neil undone the front bolt. Just as well, it was tightened up to at least 300Nm.

The Big Chap put all of his size behind it and undone it.

We may slag him off, but he is always willing to help out when needed

    Top bloke

here here good guy ,ask jimser what he is like .always trying to help folk

  4. As i said it is the admins & committee that make up the rules, us power hungry mods only follow the rules & are directed to do so by aforementioned committee members that make up the rules....

Frankly i really couldn't give a flying hoot what anyone thinks! It's a completely thankless task being a mod

If you don't like it hoot off or go higher up the tree into committee territory

you realy are a nice guy , why are you a mod if you feel that way

  5. Do you know the diameter of the OE ARBs, Geo? I'd like to know how the front/rear balance would be affected by any replacement bar(s). I had KW coilovers fitted recently, which have improved the car's handling no-end, but I think that - when pushing the chassis - they're showing up an imbalance between the front/rear ARBs (at least that's how it feels). To some extent I can remedy this by increasing the rear damper compression power, but I don't really think that's the best solution... reckon that I need to make sure the ARBs are better balanced too, at least by stiffening the rear relative to the front.

I already have the ALK - but I'm interested in the diff control bushes... how do you think harder replacements for those might improve handling?

Also, do you have any experience with WL steering bushes? I'm interested in anything that could increase steering feedback.

BTW, do you still do supply & fitting of WL products?

Sorry for all the questions - cheers in advance for any reply!

dont know dia for your std bars ,go under and measure them with calipers

yes w/line do a s/rack bush its good

the diff bushes will tighten up the diff with not a lot of n.v.h

the set up you should try is middle rear bar and soft front bar

  6. Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me the thicknesses of Hawkeye STI front and rear ARBs?

I'm looking to upgrade my rear bar.

    Many thanks!

upgrade to 22mm front 24mm rear both adjustable for best results

anti lift kit also and diff control bushes

  7. I am biased, but...

    It's an absolute dog's breakfast! :P

From the front, looks like the hatch, and that's the bit of the hatch I like the least.

From the back, looks like a Hyundai.

From the side it's lost all the simplicity and smoothness of the previous saloon, i.e.

    - An odd, irregular-shaped line around the windows.

    - An ugly quarterlight.

    - Pillars around the door windows where before there were none.

    Utterly abysmal :P

    C'mon Subaru, screw the nut!

so you do like it then,go on you no you want one lol

  8. I actually thought for a while it was Sabine Schmidt! That mental German burd that took the Transit around the ring on Top Gear.

did you ever see 2 small bumps in the racing suit ,no ,then it cant have been her then lol

    :D

    cheers geo

  9. Waw Andy, the toys are definitely out the pram according to your PM to me and this comment.

First off... I have nothing to do with Whiteline apart from they set my car up and i get a bit of sponsorship from them.

Whiteline's flagship cars have not made an appearance yet, so i don't see why you feel the need to bring Whiteline down ?

I would sugest if you have a prob with Whiteline you should take it up with them and doint do it through me on a public forum.

As Far as my signature goes i stand by it. My best time on the day was 39.97 you got a 40.5ish. now no mater how you look at it

i was... Faster than Andy F @ TOTB IX handling circit.

thats what i love about this forum boys and there toys ,or is it who has the biggest d **K :D:):):)

  10. Hope he is not going to suffer from borewash with that DV. Surely Cosworth must have read the posts on here about the dangers of the dreaded DV? ; - )

dont think cosworth is going to listen to anybody on sidc , think they will know better than anyone on here

  11. Purchased spoiler for G and he had someone else fit it - all be it incorrectly.

Problem is, he has been working away for nearly a month and when we had that heavy rain for a while back it's leaked. :o

It actually filled up the whole spare wheel compartment and was above carpet level in the boot!!!! = Progressing to seep through the back seats - so much so that when you pushed down in the material the water filled up around your fingers.

    :( :( :(

I discovered this by looking for something in the back of the car while he was away. ;)

Since this, I have done a very hilarious silicone job. Trust me, when you are lifting spoilers and have a pregnant belly while trying to silicone seal...it gets messy with things like baby bumps getting in the way! The original spoiler couldn't go back on because there were holes drilled for the new spoiler.

So to sum it up, we had a scorching two weeks and it's dried it out - I removed the wooden support base for the carpet although it's all warped :( The carpet is all water stained and has gone "curly" at the edges.

Which brings me to the problem needing urgently solved,

The back seats have a mesh layer over the material and the whole driver side is all water marked and starting to smell :o

Anyone in the central region that you can recommend to valet and save our car !!??? I would wash it myself with our upholstery cleaner but it's got that mesh and I don't want to damage it. Should I pour rice on the seats? - someone recommended that to me?

Oh and while I'm at it - anyone that can recommend a place to get a spoiler fitted "correctly". :D

No picture requests of the silicone job please!!

hi contact gp valet services on 07841 356827 ask for gavin tell him geo told you to phone ,he has all the equipment req :D

    cheers geo

  12. It is. I think its the front sensor. It screws out, unclip it at the connection. Screw the new one in and clip it into the connector, job done. I'm not sure where there front one is though.

hi m8 it is the first lamda probe ,the one thats in the collector at the front of the manifold

    changed loads of them

  14. If these stolen cars have been taken from the Weirs directly, then I won't try and pretend that I'm unhappy about whats happened. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of individuals IMO.

However, if these cars have been taken from another dealer who will have to claim/foot the bill for replacements or even worse, private individual(s) who owned one or both of these cars then its a real shame and I sincerely hope that they are found quickly and still in the condition they were lifted in..

    Cheers,

  16. Nice one sti_steve.

Didn't realise there was 3 different types. Will need to find out which kit I have. Also by fitting this kit do all the normal bushes get replaced with tougher, harder poly ones?

Only asking as my front bushes were recommended to be replaced from my last MOT so wondering if this could be a adding to the harshness.

hi m8 the three types of alk

    kca319a

    kca 361 comfort

    kca319m motorsport

    2007_1028ra5type0354.jpg

    standard bkt in silver

whiteline in gold, beefed up brackets bushes yellow comfort

black bushes motorsport with silver brackets

    cheers geo

  17. AFAIK, the anti lift kit is just a set of uprated castor bushes that add an extra 5 degrees of castor angle. You can usually slightly adjust the castor angle which will affect the handling, but won't change the feeling of the bumps.

Actually, I'm surprised with just the ALK fitted you get a noticeably harder ride. You should get better steering feel, but I wouldn't expect much else. May just be that you can feel the bumps through the steering more or even just that the pot holes got bigger with the snow/ice!

i think you will find that its 0.5deg static caster it adds ,and its not just bushes the brackets are also different

    cheers geo ;)

  18. As per title - is this possible??? Was coming towards Glasgow today from Bearsden and this nice WRC blue classic came towards me, then I noticed the 52 plate and thought - that cannae be right!!!!
