  1. No worries Alan. I'm not desperate to sell at the moment, but i would say that as with most things the price has room for negociation. I'm of the opion that good, clean classic will be become a rare sight and that people who want one will be prepared to pay a bit of a premium for the right car. I know i did, given it took me 3 months of searching to find one, so i was prepared to pay a good price to get a spot on example. Scott
  2. I'm thinking about selling my classic wagon if you are interested. It is a 51 plate, so you won't find a later model and even better than that is has just under 26K on the clock. It has a full service history with the last one done by AWD in Perth only 500 miles ago, belts were done at the previous service to that. Car is standard apart from; Magnex back box Quickshiffter Prodrive gear knob Forge Dumpvalve Crystal headlights & foglights I am looking for a price up near £8,000 for the car as i don't think you will find a later model with as little mileage as mine. Scott
  3. Sorry, should of been more clear, but yeah its the alarm problem that I have. Regards Scott
  4. Hi, Can you guy's recommend me a main dealer in central Scotland. I'm based in Dunfermline so I guess it's either Cupar, Falkirk or Perth. Who has the best name as far as workshop goes. I'm not looking to name and shame as I think there are a couple of guy's on the forum that work for these garages, but I was severely ripped off by a garage a few years back so I am very cautious when it comes to getting repairs done on my cars. Too many cowboys that are looking to make a quick buck! Specifically I am looking to get my radio lock out sorted on my MY00 classic. Its happening too often both where I go shopping and at work. Has anyone had this done by a dealer before? If so how much did it cost? I've heard that it is around £100-£150. Also told by someone that the whole dash has to come out, but others have said that it is only the lower trim from the under the steering wheel, hench my first question asking who the most honest dealer is. Thanks in advance for the replys. Regards Scott
  5. My car is a 51 Plate classic wagon with only 24,500 miles on the clock!! Do I win a prize if its the lowest mileage classic?
  6. Had the car 3 weeks now so though I should put a couple of pics up.
  7. As I understood a UK car can run on normal unleaded, but most people choose to use super unleaded. What would you of used before Optimax and the like came out?
  8. How smooth is the delivery of power on a classic? Just got my first Scooby at the weekend, a MY00 classic wagon. Now I might be paranoid, but I don't think the power delivery is how it should be. The guy I got it off stated he would just put in normal unleaded as it is a UK car, however bringing the car up from down south I have put BP superunleaded (first fill up) and then Esso superunleaded (just what ever service station I ended up at). Everything seems ok on the motorway crusing at 80-85mph however once getting nearer home, off the motorway and starting to use the gearbox it felt like the power was coming in waves, bit of power then dips, bit of power then dips, etc until grabbing another gear. Is this just the ecu re-setting for the higher grade of fuel? If so how long before it re-sets? If not then anyone know what it could be? All the mods are a Magnex back box and a BMC panel filter, however it has never been on a rolling road to set these up, although I beleive this is not always necessary as it is not the full system removing the cats. Also I am only planning on using Shell V-Power from now on as there is a garage two minutes from my house. Any comments greatly appreciated, being a newbie you might start to see more questions being put to you over the next couple of months. Regards Scott
  9. Hi Guys, Thanks for the replys. The car was registered as a 51 plate. One of the last registered classics I believe. Could it of been the original dealer that done it to help sell it? Could I go to a dealer with the vin no and ask for the original spec of the car? Regards Scott
  10. Hi, Can anyone confirm the spec on a late 2000 uk classic. I have been told that the last of the classic produced had a few extras to help them shift when the bugeye's came out. Namely they got Brembo 4-pot calipers and an STI intercooler. Is this true? Any other differences? Regards Scott
