About T20Driver

  1. From Pepipoo.com ..... The government’s proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month. On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect an NIP with your monthly bill. If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website: ps Hotmail accounts are blocking emails from this petition site so suggest use another one if you have one.
  2. Fantastic news Dal .... bet it will really fly once you're run in ... enjoy ...
  3. Well ... as I was pretty certain I had a 3" .. I said that to Rich on the phone and he said come on up and I'll get more out of it for you .. so I did. As soon as he pops the bonnet when he gets it on the rollers .. he then says its the 2 3/4 and he wont be able to get much more out of it ... and also check the panel filter to then state that it hasn't got the K&N filter which I thought I'd been told I'd got too. Given that I had a totally different understanding of what I had and what I actually have, and Rich's comments about not getting much more out of it given the features of the exhaust, I didn't bother with the RR and tune as I couldn't see the point in spending £120+Vat ph to get an extra 5 maybe 10 bhp with a K&N panel filter (another £60ish). Was in a bad mood all afternoon and evening so gave the car pleanty of spirited driving and the smile came back. Yes I'd like a little more 'punch', but it is still a good and fun car none the less .... and I may have 'saved' myself enough dosh to see you on another track day .... albeit sadly in your rear view mirror rather than mine !! ... ho hum ..
  4. ... grrr ... waste of time and fuel. I get on the rollers and Rich says .. "this is a 2 3/4inch ... you wont get much more out of it that it already has" ... hmm .. I am sure that's not whatI was told when I bought it .... !! Apparently very shortly after I got mine they started fitting a new full 3" Miltek with the cat in the centre section with more resonators ... and hence others are now getting 20 more bhp than mine with the same mods. ... and I am not spending a further £1200+ on a new exhaust system for those 20 bhp as I've already shelled out for a sports exhaust when I bought the car so I'll just have to make do .... it's also 5 track days with insurance !
  5. I think Robocop's MY06 at the top shows a peak at around 1.5 bar and I think mine is approx 1.45 bar. Not sure if this is 'standard' though.
  6. What are you like, you make me smile going for the bigger turbo and injectors or a boost controller or just a tweak with the map ? Just a map update ... at £120+VAT per hr thats a big 'just' ..... Rich said I didn't need anything else to get the most out of the existing setup. As you know I can't afford anything more or I'd have been at Goodwood. Am having to sneak off to get it done as it is !! Anyway .. how pleased are you with the Miltek now that you've had it a while ... well, a couple of days ?!
  7. Blimmy .. better get myself back down there as with the same setup (except an 05 JDM STi not SpecC) I am running only 325 / 316 ... can't have you keeping up with me !! Booked in for next Friday ... mmmm

  9. About 105 dBs at 6000rpm on a static test at Prodrive. On a car with equal-length headers its a very different sound to the classic scooby burble - more like an Evo roar when you give it full throttle. Yup ... mine was recorded at 107db at Castle Combe after it had got hot whereas it was 94db static at the start of the day tests. Apparently the twin scroll JDMs - like mine - are the worst. It was fine after I'd let it cool down over lunch and added the additional directional baffle .. which doesn't noticeably affect performance. http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/shop/co...;product=LIX029 http://www.filehigh.com/viewimg.php?f=23960&i=223037 I have to say I quite like the Miltek though (although I get pi@@ed at getting black flagged all the time before I had the bung fitted) as it is relatively civilised during normal road driving up to about 4.5-5k revs, and then it just bellows really loud all the way up the the 8k red line. It seem to re-act totally opposite to many exhausts I have heard in the street/pits where they are much much louder than mine, but get them on the track and they go all meek and mild ... and quiet. Not for me, much of the enjoyment is the engine note .....
  10. Thank YOU for putting it on Mark .... great fun as ever ... shame so many people feel they don't want to attend .... even Terry had fun in the Micra so anyone could do it ...
