  1. Done it mate! Well, I just did one of the fronts as the other front is currently being held on by 5 nuts, so I will have a look at that later in the week. The rears I am going to leave to the pros, too much can go wrong there with ABS sensors and handrake things.
  2. Shouldn't the thicker therefore stiffer bar be on the rear? Anyway, hope you're around tonight as I am going to be attempting to change the bolts on the fronts, so may need to be asking questions!
  3. I know! I meant to ask you, what happened to your sccop?
  4. Could also do away with it. Just disconnect it and perhaps paint it out. Not the best, but the cheapest and will likely look better than a toothless grin!
  5. It was a good meet too, almost spolied by the incident with the cops, but all's well that ends well. Co-piloted the Barhead Bomber. and what an experience that was, had a good few laughs and a good few frights! Car is rapid and well handled by it's driver. I kinda got lost in Strathaven as I was too busy trying to get my face and my spleen out of the back seat! Thanks for the experience Jim!
  6. Hahahaha!!!!! Ya shower of - you know whats!!! Just got in as I had to do a detour on the way home after getting a pull from the police! Got let of with a warning! I was asked if someone my age should know better than to drive that quickly and if I knew that because it was a fast car, that I didn't have to drive it fast. Asked for paperwork and only had my licence. He asked if I had points to which I replied no, and he said, well its a wonder driving like that. Then I was quized about the number plate, why have you got the spacing like that I was asked. I explain that it was the model the car SCOOB and my initials JW. He asked if I knew it was illegal and I said yes. He said get that changed and let this be a warning to you. Very nice of him I must say. He never said how fast I was going, so I couldn't have been going too fast otherwise I doubt if he would have been so lenient. Thanks officer!
  7. Nice one mate, see it/you tonight
  8. What car do you have? A WRX in a Newage 2.0? You don't really need the intercooler, but it wont hurt to have it. I'm not sure the modified TD04 will give you that much of a power gain, certainly not over 300bhp, though I guess I could be wrong about that. Probably better looking for a VF34 or 35. You can pick these up for about 4 or £500 second-hand. Yeah, best to take out the uppipe as your cat could break up and get into the turbo - besides, you will get better throughput thus more power without the cat. The sports cat will keep everything legal as well as providing a base for more power. A full decat is likely worth another 30bhp though and will be cheaper to buy since there is no cat (I think). Check out Meercat for that. Don't worry about the car's driveability at 300+ I'm running 340bhp and lots of torque and my wife whose not the best driver, can handle it no probs. Good luck with it
  9. These off-shore jobs pay you guys shed loads of cash to buy, mod and run an Impreza. However, you're never on shore to enjoy it! What a dilemma!
  10. It has come down a bit though, in Glasgow we can get unleaded for 110 and Tesco 99 for 115. I was shocked at how "cheap" petrol had become! Amazing to think that 115 is cheap. Just that I haven't been using the Scooby much and haven't been to the petrol station in nearly a month, so I was pleasently surprised and long may it continue
  11. Yeah, you will need the licence. I wouldn't bother though, you wont get that great of a gain if you already have PPP. You really need to be looking to change things to get your money's worth - bigger turbo for starters. Then of course there is no point in getting a bigger turbo without doing something with the exhaust too. The map is £600+ and then the cost of the bits and fitting will push your overall figure over the 2 grand mark (at least). Depending on the year of your car, you may have to uprate the fuel pump and injectors too - more dosh! You should mail Andy with the spec of your car and tell him what you are after and how you use the car (track etc.), and he will advise you in what you need. There is also a guide on his website showing the components and gains in stages.
  12. RA: Ligher, shorter gear ratios has more "track ready" bits than your current car, especially the uprated suspension, the RA is also a year newer. You won't reach top speed on the straights at KH, so the gearing will be fine.
  13. Yes, but in the sub-topic field you can USE LOTS OF CAPS LIKE THIS if you really want too.
  14. That's coz only snobby STi owners think they have it all
  15. I know, but its also gives life to midrange acceleration. Oh and all that other stuff; right over my head! Told you, I'm an ignorant fool!
  16. What does all that mean! and what is AVCS? Sorry, I'm an ignorant fool!
  17. Yeah, a lot of poeple have said the same thing regarding the ratios with the 6 speed. 3k for the PPG bits, then the cost of fitting them will probably be another £500... ARGH its all money! As for power, the car is doing 340/400.
