scoobyiain Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Got home from detailing a pink subaru today and alison asked me to wash her car then try and get a few scratches out that a dog had inflicted to her drivers door. No problem darling will take a look at it. [] oh my god what a scratch it was. Washed the whole car then brought out the machine polisher again, got the scratches out and took a picture for her to see. Showed her the after pic and she said "why are you showing me a picture of the garden?" look closer darling that is your door now. Before After
euan_r Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 wow again. so is this machine polishing just mopping. for some reason i didnt think u could do that with scoobs cause of the metallic or clear coat.
cullenmin Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 excellent work iain I'd love to be able to do that Rich
scoobyiain Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 You do take off a small amount of clearcoat with machine polishing but you do with polishing by hand also. Very safe to use on any car, you cant go wrong with the porter cable machine polisher. Polish a car twice a year is what is recommended but you can wax as much as you like.
philip_wilson Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Wow good job Iain [Y][H] Think I'll have to get you to do my car might even help sell it lol

marky.t.s Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 first class results iain,i've just bought Megs sratch X ,you told me about it a while ago.I 've got a Meg's foam pad as well. So,is it just a case of follow the instructions,or,is there anything i should know.
scoobyiain Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 apply about a 5p piece size blob of scratch x on the pad and rub in using up and down and side to side motions (don't go in circular motions like the karate kid) until it becomes clear then buff off with a cloth. depending on the severity of the scratch it may take up to 5 attempts.
