thewelsho Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Great day this morning and nice to meet a few more new faces. Special thanx to steve for the pax lap it was some experience but will NEVER take my car on track. Got a few pics but not on my own computer to upload them so come on peeps get some pics upNever saw you, was going to take you out for a few laps. I loved it on Saturday, was fantastic! It was a first-run for a few of my recent mods; Anti-lift kit was fantastic, turbo timer was handy, the DS2500 front and rear pads felt nice, braided hoses I suppose were doing something and the front splitter looked good and I avoided smashing it! Can't wait till the next one!
st3ph3n Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Steve, the toaster was mighty impressive. More importantly it goes VERY well indeed. The flames are obviously a bonus. John, any spins on Saturday? Was watching your lines a few times, they're good, but you upset the balance of the car on the right kink before the chicane and at the chicane itself by braking. Just lift it works fine []

Was watching your lines a few times, they're good, but you upset the balance of the car on the right kink before the chicane and at the chicane itself by braking. Just lift it works fine [] Why thank you! No spins this time, but ran very wide at one point coming out of the 2nd corner just before going down the hill to the bend before the chicane. I had all 4 wheels on the kerbs and that platistic stuff. It was a bit hairy. Can't wait till next time I LOVE IT! I did 9 runs which was about 50 laps worth, got home on an empty tank, ha!

scoobaroo Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Good to see everyone enjoyed themselves, thanks must go to John S. and the staff at knockhill for these well oiled events. [Y]. Hope everyone enjoyed their pax laps in my little pony. [] Car was running, and stopping well, just sorry i couldnt take more peeps out as i was suffering from fuel surge near the end, which cut short my day. [] Only sore point was 62 miles from full tank to red light [] p.s. the toaster was flaming well, Stephen needs to turn the volume down, Imy was lapping like a vet., J.W. is turning into a track tart !, squirrell needs a foot bath, Wilky needs to enter his beastie for the nxt drifting comp. at knockers !! and i need a set of track tyres washed down with a couple of settlers when i nxt head out !! Marty.
thewelsho Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Is it really that loud? []No... louder! Was that the new missus who accompanied you on Saturday Stevo? Thanks for the introduction! Anyhoo, I'm booked for July, track-tart indeed! I need more power though, getting fed up having to move over for cars who are up my a55 in the corners but then can't pass in the straights until I slow all the way down spoiling my lap!
RA Dunk Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I need more power though, lol get yer cheque book oot man!! []
thewelsho Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I need more power though, lol get yer cheque book oot man!! [] Already spent about 5 grand on it after splashing out 22k for it new in a year! I'm not one of the cash-rich oil workers on here, like you! I need new brakes (full kit), ARBs, and at least a re-map; about another 2k and that is not buying the top-notch stuff like the cash-rich oil workers who are members of the AP racing Brake Club [] Plus, I just moved into a new house which is sucking money out of me; life is really tough as an Impreza owner []
st3ph3n Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 John, that was indeed the new missus with me. I tried to introduce her to people, but there was so many there, and I had some work colleagues up too seeing as there was three of us from the office on track. It's hard enough for me to remember who half the people are anyway never mind introducing them to someone!. She had a great time though, so she'll be back for the next one.

st3ph3n Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Guys, my mate Paul wanted me to post up to say that Meercat are fixing his exhuast after it failed on Saturday. He took it down yesterday and they were very surprised it had come apart so spectacularly and most apologetic about the whole thing. If their work stands up to big power skylines than the wee one litre hair dryer in the 'blade shouldn't have been a problem. [] So anyway it's all getting fixed and Paul is happy, so no harm done in the end. [y]
RA Dunk Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 so no harm done in the end. [y] apart from the marshals hand who tried to pick it up when it was still hot!! []

My car is still at Greersport for some repair work after the blast at KH...but it's getting other bits fitted too at the same time.[] Who else is going on in July?
