Gears not selecting well-Update

Recommended Posts

Hey

Not sure if anything to worry about but recently when I am trying to select 1st gear either when first moving off or when coming up to a junction sometimes it does not go in properly. I have to lift the clutch back up and then puch back down again. Usually only need to do this once but sometimes several times before it actually goes into gear.

Why is this happening ? Any ideas ?

Thanks

Chris

Ok new problem with the gears.

Today, the gear stick was stuck in third. Happened three times in the space of about half an hour. Had to stop at side of the road each time.

Anyone experienced this before?

i know a bit of grinding betweens gears is not uncommon especially with classics even i had it (till it mysteriously dissapeared [:^)]), dont think its very common for the gears to stick like that TBH though, maybe your gearbox is about sha99ed? hopefully not though

Yeah found out from some research that its not uncommon for a bit of grinding like you said.

Hopefully its not f**ked . Hope it cures itself also.

Mine is the same in first gear, sometimes doesnt go in but I just let the clutch out and in then it goes into gear.

Never had the gear stuck in third though!
