I know this has been done to death so I am just looking for your input.

This morning I had to put some BP Ultimate in my car (05 sti ppp). Only put £8 in as will fill up on VPower tonight or tomorrow. Thing is I did not notice any marked difference in the cars sound, performance or general responses! Admittedly the car was warmed up by the time I put the fuel in and there was still 10 or more lts of vpower in there. What is the deal with this? I have to travel 16 miles around to fill up on vpower, so I use a gallon just going to fill up, running late this morning hence the BP stop which is en-route.

Just looking for opinions and experiences please? Is anyone regularly running their sti ppp on Ultimate or something else?

 Cheers.

Hey,not the same car but i have an opinion on fuel . Prob different from everyone else!

I have a tunned P1 mapped by Andy F on optimax.  Always ran on V power since it came out. Never had any problems but was never impressed.Boost spiked a bit too. One tank i had though, the car ran terribly. The car just felt poor and lacking power, sitting on full boost the car would cut the boost or whatever it does to protect itself. Ever since then i'v used the Tescos fuel. The car has never in its life ran as good as this. Boost is perfect now. Car feels much smoother and with more power.

I know everyone's different but i'd only ever put the tescos fuel in my car as it loves it![H]

ps i dont work for tescos as this looks like an add for them [8-|]

Have to agree with the comments from jimmyGforce.

I used optimax all the time before, but I decided to give tesco a go and the car feels so much better.

However it seems like every car reacts different to different types of petrol.

i just never trusted supermarket fuel, dunno why tbh plus the nearest tesco selling super is 12 miles away from me and bp is only 2 so thats easiest

Well I'm probably gonna get pelters but so what.....

I've had 6 Impreza Turbo's since 1998 and have run every one of them on normal unleaded with no problems whatsoever.  I have not experienced flat spots and the cars always feel responsive and fast enough for me.  The last 3 have been UK STi's.

One of the earlier cars was a company car that I did ~28K miles in a year with no issues.  Dealers I've used for sales & servicing have told me there is no issue with using this fuel.

Each to their own.

Guys thanks for your input, its good to hear that there are no true issues with this fuel. As I said before the car ran well on the BP Ultimate so I may continue to use it given your comments. Very interesting that you (Den) run your's on standard unleaded with no issues at all. I haven't heard of anyone doing this before with a Sti but good to know that the stealers say it will cause no ill effects to the engine.

No more 16 mile round trip to Shell then!! Nice!!

Sorry for not responding sooner, was off line for a while.

Funnily enough the dealer i bought my car from said the same and even put 20 quid of normal unleaded in it before i came to collect it...but it did run like a bag of spanners but it is an import, filled with super and booster and did a reset and been fine since
