Charliep Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 I have heard good things about Simpsons Subaru in Wiltshire, but i allways use Cotswolds Subaru, only becuase the main techy there, Drew is a God amongst men when it comes to scooby knowledge. But they are, as allways expensive.
scooby princess Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 your quite right there charlie - simpsons of swindon (highworth) are another excellent main dealer who is also one of the ones who offer discount to sidc member
craigscoob Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 how much do they charge for a service as mine is due one,and im toying with the idea of getting the parts and getting my m8 to service it, but the down fall is the service history as its got shed loads etc and wana keep it uptogether
scooby princess Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 im not sure on the costs craig but if you are a paid up member of sidc you get a discount on servicing, parts and labour iirc - which could equate to the saving you get on that alone pays for the sidc membership and you could then get tickets for shows with stand passes eg the forthcoming rally day at combe in september which go on sale on monday morning at 9am
Charliep Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Im sure the normal price is around £240 for a cambelt change. but budget for the tensioner whis is about anothe £120 ish I got a discount for buying both at the same time. but i didnt get a SIDC discount like you would at simpsons. servicing - well I do my own, but things like cambelts I leave to the pro's, oh and spark plugs but thats just because im lazy and cant be bothered to take out tanks etc lol.
Charliep Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 oooh, go to graham goode website for a brake down of each servicing and whats involved. it is sorta my servicing bible http://www.grahamgoode.com/Subaru-Shed.pdf
james04 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 []my car always gos to subaru 4 u in newbury 1st class service, i found them more helpfull than simpsons of swindon.
