nanaki Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 when mine was crunching between 3rd and 4th it was the syncros that needed replaced and not the clutch. don't know what that would cost though as i had mine fixed under warrentte
WUZ Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Didn't think that it was the clutch that's why I asked. Synchros sound the obvious choice but based on your PM Col....it migh tbe more than that! Russell

RA Dunk Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 talking aboot syncros, for the last year at least ive been getting a heavy grinding noise going from 1st to 2nd at 4000rpm or slightly less, weird thing is its stopped by itself? even going up to red line and ramming it into second its back to how it originally was with no noise grinding etc, any ideas as to whats just happened to my car?

nanaki Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 for me it was always 4th to 3rd yet the other way about was fine. i was told that new gearbox oil could help them if it was only a we bit out but mine wa well past it so they had to rip em out and replace a few of them. dont suppose you changed the gearbox oil?
