The Mrs. car gets skelped (again!)

Recommended Posts

The Mrs. (Dawn) was taking my Gran to Homebase in Livingston today when a young-ish bloke in an S-plate white Astra ran into the passenger side of her car at a roundabout.

Drove out to bring her back to the house (car is undriveable) and the young guy admitted he was to blame - he was in the left-lane of the two lanes coming onto the rounabout, the car in the right-lane actually drew out in front of dawn but stopped in time and he must have thought that way was clear becuase of the other car moving away when obviously it wasnt.

Rear door, sill and rear quarter are smacked in, and the back wheel is awfy squint - the inside of the tyre has hit the inisde of the wheel arch. Rear tyre also has a hole in it. If it's repaired, and we hope it is, this will be the 2nd near-side rear quarter the car has had (some of you may remember the incident the day after our wedding 2 years ago where a out-his-face pedestrian literally ran into the side of her car).

Aye Dawn is ok - bit shook up and a bit upset, she is starting to get a sore neck but it'll probably be away after a good nights sleep. Gran (my gran btw) is fine too, she's in her mid 80's and a bit frail, and it was her side of the car that got hit so she's a wee bit shook up too.

Hopefully the car will get fixed, although this is the 3rd knock the car's had (it's only 3 years old) - someone reversed into it when Dawn was in Tesco's in early 2005 (no note so had to go down as her fault) - then the incident with the running man in May 2005.

We did look at getting a new 206 or 207 about 6 weeks ago but finances were a bit too tight. Funnily enough, it was a red one she was going to get.
