rob2006 Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Clutdav has his car mapped by russ @ wallace and had no issues Whats he driving? Does having the car remapped remove the PPP map? I'd like to keep that map and switch to a higher power one as an when i feel the need to
rob2006 Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 AFAIK that would wipe the PPP map. Rich AFAIK??? wots that mean? sorry
st3ph3n Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 "As far as I know". I have a dual map on my 05 WRX. One is set to boost to 0.5bar and the other to 1.4ish. Don't think you can keep the PPP map and then add another on though because the ECUTEK map is a complete reflash of the ECU. Unless that's what prodrive use?

I have had my car mapped by Wallace Performance twice now without any negative experiences. I have always found Russ to be very helpful and knowledgable. I have learnt alot from him whilst doing the remaps on my car - as I was present for all the mapping runs. The new version of the EcuTek Tek 3 software allows you to have 2 maps (switchable from the demister button) and launch control. Russ set all of these up on my car and it runs a treat. With regards to keeping the PPP map......it depends on what you are wanting as you can have one high boost map and one low boost map (keeping most of the prodrive settings) - but this all depends on what mods you have on the car (as if you have had the breathing improved it can be difficult to keep the boost from creeping). Launch control is basically a static rev limiter that limits the revs to a previously set level whilst the car is travelling slower than 10mph. Around the 4.5 - 5.5k mark works really well depending on how hard you like to drop the clutch. If you have any questions just give me a shout. Dave PS: I trust Russ with my car to the extent that I am going for stage 2 mods in the coming months.
scouk Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Just out of curiosity, how much do they charge for a remap? Thinking about getting my WRX done in the next few months and have it loaded with dual-map, just tryign to get and idea of costs. Thanks,
scouk Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 iirc its £550 plus vat for the licence and map Thanks.. That's a little cheaper than I expected... Woohoo!

upsoluteSTi Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 iirc its £550 plus vat for the licence and map Out of interest, the previous owner of my 03 STi had ECUTEK remaped done at WP. im thinking about changing exhaust in the near future and would like a another remap to work with new exhaust will i still be able to use the licence from the previous owner? or do i have to purchase a new licence?

From what i have read so far the licence only seems appliable to the ECU the remap is done on not you personally
craig mac Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 The licence is the ecu's, the cars, you can get other maps done for circa £200 me thinks
