wrxmania Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Well after months of waiting and deciding on wheels, tyres, wheels and tyres, to enable me to fit the brakes etc, I have finally got them polished and fitted to the car. First came the wheels (with some marks) but tyres now fitted thanks to Extreme Motorsport - Toyo T1-R's on a 215/40/17. Then after some touch up of a few marks, and then a couple of coats of Poorboys Wheel Sealant came the fitting Then the road test And finally the sun going down OK the pictures are crap as usual - taken on my phone in the blazing sunshine. Now for the new 4 pots, pads (Pagid RS 4.2.1) and discs at the front and new discs and pads (OMP R&S) at the rear with Motul 5.1 and Goodridge lines - ready to go on. Also a couple of nice Whiteline bits ready to go too [] Oh - and a Pro-Align geometry set-up too. Then its' on with the polishing for the summer! Brian []
wrxmania Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 Thanks Jim - I had hoped they would suit it. They don't look too modern and I want the car as standard looking as possible too.
wrxmania Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 And another pic of the wheel with flap on the front:
scoobyiain Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Looks spot on. love those wheels on a classic.
STi_Bandit Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Brain watch out for that car in the road when taking pics lol, Looking good mate Bandit
marky.t.s Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 wheels look good mate,i'm due new rear discs soon as well, the OMP's are not a bad price mibbies try them ,unless anyone knows different..i.e.if there any good!!!
imprezapete Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Looks better Brian, the new age alloys do look good on a classic. Looks even better with mud guards as well [Y]
wrxmania Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Still liking them - shining in the sun - I think they suit this car and with it being silver, alloy colour choice is difficult - too dark and they look grubby, too light (ie silver) and they look cheap. And gold is OBVIOUSLY out of the question []. However, need to clean the rest of the car a good bit (for me anyway) - but its' too sunny to wash it and I've just finished fixing our Dyson - new motor, belts, filters, stripped and cleaned and now running a treat - modified Dyson lol []
thewelsho Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Very nice mate, but aren't those the wheels and tyres you where meant to give to me, instead of the ones I got? []
wrxmania Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 LOL - afraid not - the ones you got would have been on months ago had they been tyre correct [] You used them yet? B.
thewelsho Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 LOL - afraid not - the ones you got would have been on months ago had they been tyre correct [] You used them yet? B. Oh yes. Had them on for about a week for normal road use, then had them on at the last Knockers day. They were excellent! Plenty of grip too. Next run out will be 26 May at the next KH event.
scoobaroo Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Pretty wheels Brian, and, virgin rubber. Nice combo [Y] Marty,
micra_wrc Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 the car looks more mature with those wheels. but I liked the white wheels too []
