gus the bus Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Right, next on the list is a slight upgrade of the brakes. cant afford to go for AP's or anything the noo so was going for discs, pads and braided hoses. Had a look @ a few options but without going daft was thinking of EBC turbo groove or Ultimax discs, EBC Yellowstuff pads and Goodridge braided hoses. (Group Buy on S:NET the noo for £390.00 delivered) any thoughts? Gus
Spaceman Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Gus my man is there not another group buy on Snet the now to for PF discs and pads meant to be good like? Wee baws. P.S when we fittin the brake stopper kit? it was more of a challenge than i thought my alarm is wired up around there Grieg

frank c Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Gus, next time round i'll be fitting DS2500 with standard discs along with braided hoses and Dot 5.1. Couldn't really justify £430 for discs at Godspeed . I'd rather save up for the AP's.
RS Grant Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Your car has got 4-pots hasnt it Gus?? If not then I'd be looking into upgrading to a set... I remember the hopes and prayers I said every time I needed to brake in my MY98 UK wagon with 2-pots. lol [] Cheers, Grant
Richie Cross Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Being a newbie and all.....would fitting braided hoses to start with see an improvement with the braking? Just got the car so discs/pads etc are ok....but there's nothing like planning ahead!!! Would probably start with just pads.....seems like the Ferodos are popular?
gus the bus Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Richie, Braided hoses and DOT 5.1 fluid are a good combo if you drive hard. reduce brake fade to an extent. Gus
the blue dragon Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Gus , im also looking at the ebc turbogroove, as you get a good price from ebc online( 10% discount on final order and free postage) but you prob already know this [] cheers iain

Spaceman Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 PF for Newage only Greig[] A man of your ability should be able to fit that brakestopper kit no problem[] A was doing fine but and would have had it done but the way the guy has set the alarm up meant i would need to cut a wire and then rejoin it and didn`t have any electrical stuff. So left it at that ill stick it on when i get a chance these ten days off Big Baws. Wee Baws ooot
