lestippp Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Can anyone advise me on how to remove these from my cars front fog lamp covers or do I need to buy a replacement set? Thanks.
phil Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 First Step : Hot Soapy Water get them and the surrounding area nice and clean and warm Second Step : Grap a hairdryer and warm the stickers up carefully Third Step : carefull pick at the edges and they should lift of quite easily keeping the hairdryer on them Forth Step : use Autoglyms Tar remover or similar to remove any traces of glue/ stickyness left
lestippp Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 Thanks Phil, I will try this at the weekend if I have time.
the squiggle Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I find smashing the hell out of them with a brick does the job nice and quick, hell of a mess though but the decals are off Failing that you could scrape them off with a flat edged screwdriver
the squiggle Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 You ever tried to remove decals with a Phillips. Prince Phillip maybe but Zara Phillips would make a bigger mess than the brick method due to her horsey tendancies

Prince Phillip maybe but Zara Phillips would make a bigger mess than the brick method due to her horsey tendancies I always found you needed a really soft touch verging on limp wristed gayness.........................hence the reason i would hire Prince Eddy, fits the bill nicely!!!!
lestippp Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 Thanks guys, I think I might still go with Phils suggestion but failing that I will try to book Prince Eddy............ just in case!
lestippp Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 I like the idea of just having the Sti badge on the grill. Nothing else required as anyone "in the know" will recognise the car for what it is. I've never really liked the "overt branding" on the front of the STi. Have you changed yours?

lestippp Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 I guessing that you have mega stickers on the side of your car... am I right? Any pictures?

lestippp Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 I see you are the shy retiring type!!! Car looks excellent tho. The PFF7 alloys are awesome but I must say I like the black ones better on the white. Your going to need a really big hairdrier if you decide to change the decals!
stevie 4 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 homebase sell stuff called sticky stuff remover you just spray it on wait 5mins then using a credit type card or something to get under the edge your de-cals will peel strait off

lestippp Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 I think they would look quite good actually. All down to your personal taste I guess. Even with no de-cals an Sti is never going to be a Q car, is it.
