trevelyan Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Just a wee exercise to see who has got the most powerful uk spec 'standard' classic impreza....??? By 'Standard' , i mean no uprated engine internals or engine swaps. Exhausts, filters, re-maps, uprated fuel pumps are considered, but uprated injectors, cams, con rods etc would'nt count...!!! I know you're all thinking why, but im bored and just wondering what i could aspire to in the old girl myself...!!! Looking forward to hearing some of the responses, hopefully not the one's that say you fu**wit...!!!
philip_wilson Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I've got a my99 uk turbo that made 251 bhp on Japerformance rollers with just a scoobysport back box [].
cullenmin Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Mine did 233bhp/214 torque @ Dastek but that was with an H&S de-cat exhaust with the 3" backbox, and green panel filter! V-Power of course (or was it optimax at that time)! Rich
simon_mcwilliam Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I had 330bhp & 330lbft torque with a standard engine & internals. Although it was a vf29 turbo, full decat, headers, blitz air filter, fmic & a unichip re map
col666 Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I got a crazy reading at star performance years ago of just over 300bhp from my old uk96 wagon, got the printout somewhere. Only mods were Fuel pump, regulator, complete de-cat, induction kit, running 17psi of boost and thats it! Col.
st3ph3n Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Did JC ever put his on the rollers? It does the 1/4 in stupid fast times and I'm sure it's a standard UK block, admittedly with plenty of supporting tweaks!
RA Dunk Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 JC has uprated just about everything there is apart from his block, which = one hell of a quick car lol im still pretty standard as well with only a full decat, uprated fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and a remap, never bothered putting it on the rollers before but would be intrested to see what it made
iainc Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I got a crazy reading at star performance years ago of just over 300bhp from my old uk96 wagon, got the printout somewhere. Only mods were Fuel pump, regulator, complete de-cat, induction kit, running 17psi of boost and thats it! Col. I managed close to 290bhp on a UK94 at Star as well. Only Decat, induction kit and Dawes Device but still had the original fuel cut limit so probably only boosting to about 14.5 at the most (I know it was cold that day 'cos I had to turn it down on the way down the road 'cos I hit the fuel cut a couple of times).
petermorling Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Hey there im a new member, i put my '95 turbo on the rolling road at japerformance and i got 182 BHP yes thats right 182 BHP [:'(] [:'(] and thats with a full powerflow exhaust and de-catted, and hks filter.... any suggestion apart from burn it.... ?
st3ph3n Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Is that at the wheels or at the crank? If you've fitted dodgy mods then it might just need everything properly setup. Fuelling etc.
jcscoob Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Dont about bhp as you never can trust them magic numbers, but i have deffo got the fastest !! [] [] Ps, still on std uk choco block. Pss, not for long tho. [][:'(]
david_taylor Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I've got a my99 uk turbo that made 251 bhp on Japerformance rollers with just a scoobysport back box []. That does not add up mate. I would have thought it might have had a re-map from pervious owner maybe. The car is 215bhp as standard, and usually looses power with age. So that means that you have gained nearly 40bhp from a back box. I would expect that sort of gain with a full decat and panel filter perhaps. I only have a center decat and magnex backbox. Will get it on the rollers when Duncan at Hypertech has his rolling road installed. Dave
Johnny50 Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 My my99 wagon made 249bhp on dastek rollers with full decat, using Tesco 95ron fuel.
petermorling Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 thats at wheels? the car was running rough, i found out it didn't have a thermostat in it, and when i went to put one in i ended up needing a water pump, and to top it off if i think the timing has jumped, probably putting out about 100 brake now no kidding [*-)]
simon_mcwilliam Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Peter are you the guy with the metallic pink scooby that I spoke to at RPS garage onths back.
petermorling Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Oh yes thats me with the wildest scooby in the east lol.
