GaryD Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 My car is getting the geometry etc setup tomorrow. I have a note of the prodrive geometry settings for a blobeye wrx. Does anyone know if the settings are different for a Sti or are they the same regardless of the model? Cheers...
fai17 Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Don't worry m8...they'll sort it.... BTW it's not Prodrive settings that we run don't here...it's Group N tar mac settings[]
GaryD Posted March 16, 2007 Author Posted March 16, 2007 Cheers Peter, dropped the car off this morning but forgot to mention that it wasnt just a geometry check to get done, I pressume they will know it needs changing to Group N tarmac settings? Will give you a call at lunchtime.
RA Dunk Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 is the group N tamac settings better than prodrive ones?
gus the bus Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 is the group N tarmac settings better than prodrive ones? YES! and fyi group N is the same as "fast road" setting. tbh Prodrive is a bit harsh a setting for our roads as with the camber on uk roads you will generally get a pull to the left from the steering with Prodrive settings. Group N or fast road settings are more in tune with the road conditions/formation we have in the UK. Gus
GaryD Posted March 17, 2007 Author Posted March 17, 2007 Got the group N settings done today, car handles brilliantly now, between that and all the whiteline kit, it feels like a totally different car to drive! Well chuffed!
gus the bus Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Nice one Gary[Y]. Who did it for you ? I've still to get mine done this (next) week after Geo did all my whiteline kit. Was gonna use Pro-Grip in Bonnybridge as they did my 300 last time and did an excellent job for a very reasonable price (also they are very close to my work). Gus
cusco kid Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 can anybody give me a copy of both gpn tarmac settings and prodrive settings caster /camber toe - set back ect would like to compair the difference geo

Gus Was done by a place in Barmill, its a contact of Peters/Greersports. Car was serviced down at Greersport so just used the place they put me onto which is only 5mins away!

st3ph3n Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Wouldn't mind a copy too. I'm running the prodrive settings and yes the car does pull left on the cambered roads. Might get it booked for the fast road settings at some point and see how they feel.
frank c Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Anyone care to share the Group N settings ? I'm running 1 deg toe and 1.25 camber all round i think..( i'll check later ) What do you guys recommend .. ps: spoke to a guy from Prodrive and was told the their settings were slightly rushed when configurating and not ideal..[:^)]
RA Dunk Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 ok so the group n settings are for fast road use, i though the prodrive settings were for fast road AND track? anybody care to explain to a noob which is the better? [:$]
gus the bus Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Sorry guys but not aware of what the exact "figures" are but if you are getting it done by Progrip in Bonnybridge or @ Duncs or wherever ask for these settings. There is less negative camber than the prodrive settings (hence less pull). Been told that Prodrive settings are just too harsh for general road use but better suited for the track where there is little or no camber on the track surface. Gus
RA Dunk Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Hmmmmmmmm, not sure about this but i think T&C is the only place in sheepville to get it done, would they do the group-n settings as well or would i need to go further afield? i remember JohnS posting up a place in aberdeenshire to get it done but cant remember where its at or even find the post he made it on
