Its a WRX Type RA with only 26k on the clock.. I'm am a very happy bunny and just need to start saving to get some mods done now. And soooo looking forward to the March run too now. Hazel
gus the bus Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Excellent news Hazel[Y] glad you got yourself sorted out and didnt go away from scoobs after yer problems. Look forward to the seeing the new beast next Sunday! Gus
WRX Haz Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 Thanks Gus, really enjoying driving this one. Need to top up the i/c water spray before hand and not really sure what it needs topped up with tbh and also this may seem stupid but when is it required? (sorry but Jamis's uk scoob and my last wrx didn't have this on)
gus the bus Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Hazel, just tap water!!!! It helps with (or is meant to!) when the car has been driven hard (or long) to assist with cooling the intercooler. (water is sprayed over the fins!) The temperature of the air that then passes from the intercooler into the induction system is meant to be reduced . So when you have been giving it some serious wellie on the run give it a quick blast. Hope this helps Gus
WRX Haz Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 Thats good news as I had heard that you need to put something else in aswell. Thanks m8 [Y]
gus the bus Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Only ever used tap water in mine! Could be wrong though, but all it is doing is helping reduce temperature. Gus
gus the bus Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Quote Water is all you need and defo don't pee in it. Jings! just imagine the smell[:|]
WRX Haz Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 Yuk! [+o(] na i'l stick with tap water guys, thanks
Jamis Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Nice one babe ,i told you you would get another one and it is sweet too.
ally-b Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I don't want to sound like a geek [8-|] but it is best to give the 'cooler a wetting just before a bit of welly , as the evaporation of the water by the airflow will actually draw a lot more heat from the 'cooler than airflow alone and thus preventing too much heat from building up . . . . . . Rather than using the water to remove heat once it has built up . I hope that makes sense [*-)] Al.
gus the bus Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Geek![] actually, thats worth knowing. Cheers Gus
scoobyiain Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Quote I don't want to sound like a geek [8-|] Al. Well you just did. but i have noted your statement [Y]
WRX Haz Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 Valid point Al, logic when you think about it cheers
