Haribo1187
Hey guys - own a MY99 Uk Turbo PPP. Recently started modifying for power. Was wondering what turbo would be recomended for big - less lag as possible power ??? And fueling eg injectors etc.. Cheers - Andy Link to comment
fai17
What power are you after as that really determines what turbo you need. 20G,18G and 16g. VF30,34,35 are good upgrade. TD04H are very good for very quick boost and top end is not too bad either. Cheapest will be TD04H,STI TMIC,CAI and use your standard injectors.....plus a full decat......power wise....who knows but makes for a real good back road blaster but might not be too hot for Crail.[] Link to comment
WUZ
20G on a UK car is not a very driveable car in a day to day environment, you'll soon get sick of the small power band (unless your JC) For Crail it'll be great but if you fit it...........start saving for some repair and rebuilds. Haribo1187
Cheers guys... Currently have H&S De-cat downpipe - Blitz Nur Spec R car back zorst - Autobahn 88 FMIC - Apexi induction - HKS SVQ d/v - Exedy Clutch and Flywheel - Gt Spec II unequal length headers and up-pipe - Walbro fuel pump - Nismo 550cc injectors - Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator - Bf Defis - Was thinking about the IHI VF34 - how would this go with the mods already ?? Wat power would I roughly see after an apointment with Mr F ?? Thanks - Andy Link to comment
WUZ
HMM! - 18G would be a better choice for outright power but 34 is nice. Both turbo's will run bewtter on your car with the STi8 TMIC as the FMIC is overkill for either turbo., but you'd better saving for a new Gearbox as well! Russell Link to comment
fai17
There is a box for sale in the f/s section Link to comment

diffbuster
Probably means you are giving the charge more cooling than is strictly nececary for the amount of air the turbo is flowing with the frontmount you have a longer pipe run which introduces more lag, get a bigger turbo to make it work to its capacity but like the man says start saving for a box rebuild. Haribo1187
Thanks guys.. All your help is greatly apreciated.. I like the idea of having a FMIC as I have been told it is safer for your internals at top end and long hard runs. Is this correct ??? Would a TD05 16g be any use ??? Is it possible to re-build the compressor bigger ?? eg make it to a 20g without changing housing ??? Andy Link to comment
