Tyre Choice ?

I've done the usual search folks but thought i'd ask anyway.

I will be buying some rubber for my 17's tomorrow and i wondered what you guys are using or are planning next time round.

I've got Eagle F1's on my 16's at the moment but fancy a change as the sidewalls on these are quite soft.

Thought about T1R's ?

Any views folks..

ps; no track days planned.

Parada Spec II's are great!

Funnily enough, I have a set of 500-mile used ones in the garage ( took them off to put the R888's on!) and I'd only need 215 back for them? Any use to you?

I had looked at the Yoko's before Russell but want/need tyres that will cope better in all conditions.

Thanks for the offer though.[:(]

HI Frank. I've had T1R's on my last two cars and T1S's before that.  I just can't see past them.  Great wear, great grip, specifically in the wet (Which we seem to get a lot of!) and pretty low road noise.

For the money, can't think of a better tyre for fast road use.  HTH.[H]

Thanks for the response Steve..

They do seem good value for the money. Liked the F1's but as i said before..the sidewalls were just too soft for me and was looking for a change.

Cheers

try giving Jim Dickson in cumbernauld a call mate, theres a set of Kumho tyres that are out that dont break the bank but are also a good all round tyre, dunc @ hypertech has been running on the CTR and thought they were very good...

dont mind at all mate, already spoken to Dunc about tyres, am going for a set of the Kumhos same as he's got on the civic, got p zero neros on it just now and didnt feel they were good value for money. my mate has 888s on his P1 and the grip from them in the dry is awesome.... one of my other mates whos also got a P1 had a set of toyos, cant remember if it was T1s or  T1r's, will need to try and find out, he hated them, said they were the worst tyres he's ever had, they had virtually no miles on them and he took them off and got a set of Michelins which he thinks are great, think they might be PS2s

i cant remeber of the top of my head the model number of the Kumhos, if you phone Jim Dickson he should be able to tell you, if not phone Dunc @ Hypertech on 01324 812212 and he will be able to let you know...

my mate said he paid a bit more for the ps2s but thinks they are a great tyre

I've done a quick search and the only Kumho with the correct load rating seems to be the KU31.

I'll see how i get on with searching for the PS2's..

Sooo many to choose from...ma heids starting to hurt   lol

not sure what khumos you are getting, but i a have a set and they are the worst tyres i have ever used, they have no traction in dry or wet and i went thru the rears in about 8k.....they are cheap, but you get what you pay for.....i put on my winter wheels with bridgestones and the grip is like night and day IMO.....even in winter on slippy, salty roads i get better traction now than in the dry summer using khumos.......
