gunther Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Lets get this thread back on track'How does CADS obtain new members'. Everyone know's SN have more members than SIDC and SMAC'S have more members than CADS, so what, who care's. I personally think CADS won't struggle so lets get some ideas how to get new members. John hello john if you ever want to jump in with me to go meets your more than welcome bud im only down the road[] Thanks I might hold you to that[Y]
ukscoob Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 well ive only been away for a bit and it seems like every body has gone mad[:S] as for things to do i must admit when you look at what smacs do comperd to us(cads) we dont seem to do much maybe we should start havin more meets rather than just once a month.even if its just a drive out to blackpool or wales anything just to try and get more people involved as the dates once a month arnt always convenent for everybody ... just my thoughts [] just a thought but if we had flyers made up maybe we could go round askin the likes of cas and graham walkers and any other company that deals with subarus to hand them to there costumers to try and get more people involved
Little H Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Im going to seriously think of deleting this thread guys, why when we as CADS ask for it members help regardless of number of times you come do we get.... CADS will always be second best to SMACS....WTF this isnt a competition and both clubs offer something different to its members, sorry for this but you dont like stay on SN. We have addressed the fact of variation and this is where the members can only help provide the support to help organise this, yes we have placed dates in the calender for extra meets and i agree with Andy about a little drive out. The CADS aim to be family orientated so the idea of the monthly meet and greet is to spend time with friends and the kids, wifes etc... If all we did was drive round my missus and little one would stay at home as i presume most others would. So please provide replies to the question of how the club moves forward, 1. Who would like to organise a run out in April/May? 2. Who would like to organise something different? Please feel free to email or PM me your ideas.
Bluebotle Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 I'll arrange a run out but first before I do I need to know how far people are willing to travel in one day. I'm not talking about driving to London and back but what sort of distance is reasonable? trip in to Yorkshire, Cumbria or Wales? or are we talking Northwest only i.e. Lancashire/Cheshire? Talking about the name CADS it does imply it's the Cheshire section of SIDC, when CADS was born did you envisage SIDC to have many different sections in the Northwest? What's the history behind the name? It may help us understand why it is what it is. To add to the catchment area of the section (as the name CADS suggests it's the Cheshire catchment area) maybe we could include Northwest on the end of the name CADS i.e. CADS Northwest. I am speaking from a new person's point of view, when I joined SIDC I didn't think there was a Lancashire section (Well not an official one anyway) and knew I would always need to travel to Cheshire for any meets. It never occured to me even until this thread that CADS was in fact a Northwest section of the SIDC Club. When you look at the SIDC Forum each of the other sections in the Forum refer to a county i.e Southwest Scoobies, Scottish Scoobies etc. Maybe we name the forum link to CADS in SIDC as Northwest but CADS remains the same name within it. Cheers Lee
J0nah Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Why not change the title of the thread to "Some of Lee's ideas for the CADS". Delete the bit's that aren't relevant and get back on track. Rob, I don't think it's anything to do with getting shed loads new members, just getting existing members more invovled by coming up with different ideas and stuff like that. Take Lee's first post for example, he's come up with some ideas and that's what we want. [Y] As Little H and yourself has said, it's got nothing to do with "our clubs bigger than yours".
gunther Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I'm having a run out today my plans are travel up to the Trafford Centre then going up to Leeds then go across to Goole, from Goole I will be heading Sheffield then head back home. Feel free to join in[Y]
moneys Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Why not have a run out and meet up with different groups within the SIDC? that way you not only have a good little drive out but you also get to meet other members of the SIDC. As for the runs out side of things and family's, i for one would not want my wife or my soon to be baby with me in my car when i was going out on a 'spirited' run.

Ste, thats a great one and one were looking at doing mid season to meet the Midlands scoobies, as they have 100+ cars turn up.

Cheers Lee Lee, The Dales runs we've had attracted an average of 4 cars so something nearer home may be on the cards. Bob

Hello folks hope you don't mind me posting[] Coming to visit us is a great idea, our meets can reach 130 cars on just a regular Sunday afternoon and we arn't to far away for you. Just let me know when your planning and i'll set aside your own area of the field as we do when other clubs attend [] We are 7 members short of 1000 now so i hope they don't all turn up at once []
J0nah Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Cheers Dave, much appreciated. 1000 members will be a cracking acheivement. Will be good to meet up when we can sort out a date. Thanks again. Andy
matthew_kendrick Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Hi folks, I tend to not have much to say on forums, and I haven't frequented SIDC much over winter, but i've a few queries as an SIDC member. How do I join CADS? Bob sent me a load of info last year upon me joining SIDC, which I am guilty of not doing anything with, and this may be out of date (still £10 membership fee)? Looking on the forum I can't see a specific post/sticky directing me to 'joining cads' information, I haven't looked hard, but how many new users do? Looking on the CADS website, could it benefit from having previous meet/show/drive out report & picture section, i'd be interested in seeing these as a benchmark of what to expect when joining the club. I know there are such reports on the forum, but how many people will go searching historic posts? I aim to come to the future meets if welcome, i've got no excuse, the meeting point is literally round the corner!! Can I just turn up, or is this only for CADS members? Sorry for playing devils advocate slightly, and please correct me if i'm wrong in stating any of the above, just my thoughts as only an SIDC member at this point. Matt
*Andy* Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Hi Matt you would be more than welcome just turn up at the next meet, add your name to the thread in the CADS event section. The CADS membership fee was recently scrapped. Hope to see you at the next meet [Y] Andy
robert_harding Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 When was the membership fee scrapped?.[:^)]
J0nah Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 When was the membership fee scrapped?.[:^)] Little H told us at the last meet Rob.
Little H Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Its for discussion at the next meet, due to possible club funding from sponsership and the club being bouyant it was said about scrapping the fee. If you want input lets all discuss at the next meet. [y] Matt, Just pop along to the meet in March and we can go through everything with you...be good to meet up
