johns Posted June 1, 2001 Posted June 1, 2001 Extremely popular with other car clubs, we have been lucky to secure a peak season weekend slot at this fantastic motorsports venue. It comprises a superb and challenging sprint track which has just recently been upgraded and resurfaced. Only one car on track at a time, and you'll get as many runs as you can fit in during the day for about £20. You only need to pay if you waish to take your car on the track, and there is no charge is you just want to come along and watch, enjoy some food and some good company. We will also have a BBQ throughout the day (any volunteers or budding chefs out there ?), and hopefully a few other activities to keep the whole family happy. No pre-booking required, but to give us an idea of how much food to buy for the BBQ, then we would appreciate you dropping us an e-mail at We want to come to Kames!!, with the number of adults and children in your party.
dougie549 Posted June 4, 2001 Posted June 4, 2001 lo john we will be there john. have decided not to track the car so it will just be on a spectating roll. se ya all soon
john_stevenson2 Posted June 11, 2001 Posted June 11, 2001 Dougie, you are a complete wimp, get the motor out there !!!!
ecosseven Posted June 12, 2001 Posted June 12, 2001 I visited Kames yeasterday and it's absolutely fantastic It was run clockwise in the morning and anticlockwise in the afternoon, and each way was totally brilliant. 3 laps from a standing start and you soon learn the track, 2.7 laps in reverse and you only miss the big bend (paddock) Excellent stuff. Roll on August
johns Posted June 12, 2001 Author Posted June 12, 2001 Lawrence, thanks for the mouthwatering review. I guess I'll need to get some practice in to get anywhere near you in either of your cars
ecosseven Posted June 12, 2001 Posted June 12, 2001 Heh John What about the that "Biker Man" Is that me or what?
johns Posted June 12, 2001 Author Posted June 12, 2001 LOL! Lawrewnce, your beard is a little shorter, but apart from that it's a very good likeness! John
john_stevenson2 Posted June 12, 2001 Posted June 12, 2001 I can second what Lawrence said, I did the EACC practice day in May and the track is in excellent condition. Should be lots of fun with very similar cars. Plenty of run off and new gravel traps. Much less wearing on your motor than a pucker track day too. ---john---

john_stevenson2 Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 Dougie, in a sub 100 sec run (if you can hack it that is ) you ain't gonna have to worry about pads etc. I'm taking mine out standard as I found the first bend scary 'cause the Red stuffs were cold
