Fee Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Morning Does anyone know prices or contacts for where i could buy a refurbkit for the front 4pots, and rear 2pots (standard calipers) in myTypeR? I'm just looking for seals and dust covers really, untill i getthe pistons out to look at anyway! Would subaru UK be able to help? Were the brakes the same between P1's and STI IV TypeR's? Any help appreciated!

colin_ross Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Slightly off topic but are you still having steering rack issues Fee?
Fee Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Cheers Yeah, still haven't got round to looking at the steering rack problem. It isn't too bad at the moment...just top up the fluid every time it gets a bit whiney. When the skyline goes into the garage to get all its bits on we're going to have a look at the impreza.
wilky Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 You can buy the seal kits from subaru, and do it yourself Fee its not that expensive, about £30 for the seals and the bits and bobs. Use compressed air to blow the pistons out and clamp the ones you want to stay in etc etc. The way the seals go in is pretty self explanatory. If the actual pistons are corroded once you blow them out you can polish them smooth again with autosol and a drill buffer etc,but dont go mad... Alternativley you could pay someone to do it for you.................. Callum W
colin_ross Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Reason I ask is I needed a new quick rack on mine and came accross a way of doing it for a little less that the £900 plus vat that subaru want for one. If you want to know drop me a pm or something.
Fee Posted January 29, 2007 Author Posted January 29, 2007 Cheers Colin...I'll drop you a pm when we get round to looking at it Will be doing the breaks ourselves.....Adam tidied up the Skyline ones and didnt seem to do a bad job of them
