plsteve Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi all, I'm new to the forums, apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place. I am looking to buy my first Impreza - a 2005 WRX 300. However, for an 18month old the car seems a bit shabby, scratches on the interior, stitching on the back seats is burst, the rear alloys are all scratched. Does this set alarm bells going off with you? I do not want to spend a lot of money on a car that looks as though it might have been thrashed, however there is less than 10k on the clock. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Steve.
the blue dragon Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hello and welcome. For a car of that age you would expect there to be minor signs of wear and tear, although this would be dependant on whether the seller had kids, or used it to transport stuff etc.especially as there is damage to the rear seats. what is the exterior like ie scratches etc. personally, i would look into the reason for the interior damage, as i say there may be a plausible explanation. hope it turns out ok for you and happy hunting. fai17 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi and welcome to the forum..... If the car doesn't look good to go,just walk away as there are loads of scoobies to choose from. Happy hunting m8 Peter
st3ph3n Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 I have a MY05 WRX that's just over 2 years old now with 35K on it, never been tracked or dragged, HONEST! It has a couple of wee marks on the outside, and the paint on the cars is criminally thin so that's no unusual. However, on the inside it is still in great condition. The interior fit and finish is certainly not one of the cars strong points, but it is durable. I'd imagine the person might not have looked after the car particularly well
plsteve Posted January 24, 2007 Author Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks guys. I dont have much history on the car, as I am buying it from a dealer. Under the warrenty the seats will be repaired and the alloys refurbished. The body work and the rest of the interior is pretty good. A few minor things that would be covered with a bit of elbow grease. Waiting on a call from the dealer, so fingers crossed i get a few quid off and be driving a new toy by the weekend!! [] Steve.
