Japanese headlights and MOT's

Scoob was in for its mot yesterday and initially failed due to there being no beam pattern on the headlights.

I had never noticed this before but there are 3 lines horizontally across the headlight glass and nothing else to deflect the beam to the proper area of the road. I know when imports come into the uk they have to be speedo converted, fog lights etc but in all my years of scooby ownership had never heard of the headlights needing to be changed as the japs drive on the left.

After a bit of negotiation, pleading and a tiny bit of adjustment they managed to get out of headlights they passed it for me!....[] This was my first mot with the car but not the first in the country so there must be plenty other dodgy MOT testers about,.. thank god!
